Bio and Links
Bio Photo I married my husband shortly after we met online (yes, I said online!) in 2002 and we have 2 wonderful boys.

I have always enjoyed researching, especially my family heritage. I'm always searching for more information and dates to add to my extensive collection.

I'm also a nurse, horse lover, book worm, car fanatic, equestrian and scrap-booker.

RE: John and Loren Aeschliman memorials
As far as Allen County goes, the genealogist who I referred to no longer works there. It was his own genealogy on Rootweb, not the library's website that I have used. He is also pretty good at responding to emails if you have questions. Adam J. Barrone is his name. He says, "In my personal genealogical research, I use the database program RootsMagic, formerly called Family Origins. My database currently contains information on over 70,000 of my relatives and connected families that are associated with the Apostolic Christian Church of America." A link: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~barrone/genealogy.htm Adam also publishes a book listing most or all and giving connection. I've never seen a copy but had corresponded with relatives who own it. I'd bet dollars to donuts his latest edition includes you!

The only things that the Wells Co. library in Bluffton has one line are obits (dates, parents, spouse - no further details) and cemetery lists.

The Banner, or whatever that paper is being called now, also has taken to posting current obits along with pictures of the "dear departed." http://www.news-banner.com/obituaries

Ouch, a bit pricy. Wouldn't be surprised but what it is owned Allen County Library's Genealogy Section. They have about five genealogists on staff. Personally, I've never used them, but have used what the Wells Country Library has on line.

A word search came up with this link. http://ourfamilylineage.net/genealogy/histories/family/Strahm%20Family%20and%20the%20Apostolic%20Church.pdf

I know I've seen pieces of it before. It's by John H. Baumgartner, written in 1965. Sometimes you can find books on the Internet, but I've not found this one.

No, I don't have "The First 100 Years." I assumed from your earlier reference to it that it deals with the Aeschliman family.

RE: John and Loren Aeschliman memorials
Of course, you may. I should have explained earlier, except it's sometimes so very hard to do with out going into horrendous detail.

My paternal grandfather was Joel A Schwartz, he was first generation American so not as culpable (lol) as my paternal grandmother's line, plus the Swiss immigrants seem to have outnumbered the Germans. My grandmother's name was Mary Ann Strohm and her parents were John Peter Strohm and Cecelia Barger. Cecelia's father, Peter Barger, is my great,great-grandfather as well as your mother's.

That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

RE: John and Loren Aeschliman memorials
I'm sorry you haven't found a cousins chart you feel confortable with.

The center of the spider web is in the area of Wells and Allen counties. Both of my parents families grew up there. At times my granddaughter and I feel so frustrated by the interconnectedness, the we want to - started to say scream. What we do do is, via email, cry on one another's shoulder. Bluffton and Wells county, in particular, are alive with my relatives on both the maternal and paternal sides and then the mix of both.

Your grandmother Lauder's obit contained the names of all her children, as well as grandchildren. I went back and looked, saw that you and your husband were named in it. The only unanswered question is whether your maiden name was Luebke or Winter. Reading between the lines in your Aunt Marge's genealogy, I'm guessing Winter.

As frustrating as genealogy can be some days, it can also be rewarding. Good luck on your paternal grandfather's side of your family tree.

Carol

Which of your grandmother Lauder's children is your parent? Just curious.

Back to your meeting your husband on line, my granddaughter married in 1998. She and her husband have two children also. As nearly as I can tell, they have a very good marriage. Can't always tell from the outside. :)

Hope you found one of the cousin charts on line. Years ago sent my granddaughter, who is also into genealogy, a link to one that I believe she's still using.

We've both been muddling our way through what she, Stephanie, refers to as a "spider web" of interconnected ACC families, frustrating but interesting. Is your branch still in Illinois?

If she is Mary Elizabeth, yes.
