Welcome to my profile.|
Everyone who knows me knows that I love getting to know my ancestors and have spent the better part of the last thirty years devoted to it. I enjoy walking through cemeteries and looking at memorial stones. I find it relaxing and peaceful and have met some of the nicest people through Find A Grave!
It makes me happy to help someone add a page to their history and keep the person's memory alive. I also feel that it may give a family a type of closure to know where a loved one is located.
My pictures are not copyrighted. You may certainly use my monument photos for your PERSONAL PRIVATE family trees. I am finding my pictures on Ancestry without source, and not linked, which is illegal. IF YOU CANNOT PROPERLY SOURCE OTHER'S MATERIAL, DO NOT USE IT!!
Please use the new Edit System when possible for making any name or date changes to a memorial. You add the changes yourself and I will approve them or contact you for further clarification.
I am happy to add or correct information for you on memorials. I am somewhat liberal with transfers of anyone not related to me, but please state your specific relationship.
Please also feel free to contact me via email or post a message regarding any additional related family members. Perhaps we are cousins!
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Ellen Sorenson||Theis memorials|
I have transferred the rest of my nonfamily Theis memorials to you. I would feel terrible if I transferred them all to Kathy when you might be more closely related. This way, I transferred half to Kathy and half to you. If there are any Theis' I transferred to you that you don't want to manage, please feel free to transfer them to Kathy Strickland.
|Ellen Sorenson||RE: Elizabeth Theis|
Kathy Strickland is requesting a lot of Theis' and I think you might be more closely related. I have more Theis memorials yet, and if I don't have them marked "family", I would be happy to transfer to you. Otherwise they will probably go to Kathy.

Find A Grave Memorial# 123704679
From Cyrus's voting records he moved from San Bernardino to the LA area and died in Santa Monica in 1904. Can you cal the cemetery and see who owned the plot or when it was used? Headstone? etc.
Thank You so much for all the info on Find A Grave Memorial# 103083315. He is a second cousin to me. Are you related to the Ashworths? I am looking for the burial place of Donald's parents, Omar and Mabel. Do you know where they are buried? In fact I would love to find the burial places of Omar's siblings also. I know his brother in law Harry Strauss is buried in the San Francisco National Cemetery, but wondered whether Myrtle would also be. Do you know if they also bury the wives next to the soldiers? Thanks Chloe for all that you do on Find a Grave. Carol Bruhn Jacobs

Hi! Thank you very much for locating her grave and for posting a photo of the grave marker to the memorial I created for her. What a great surprise! Thanks for linking her husband as well. It's great to see the family coming together on Find A Grave. Ace

Your welcome, Chloe.
TLS (the other Contributor) didn't respond to my message but deleted his Memorial. This is the link to his Contributor Page.
I found both Memorials while searching for all BARMOREs in California, some of whom are distantly connected to me by marriage.
Thank you again for all you do to memorialize those who have passed from this earthly existence.
