John Owen Thomas # 40872630
Deb:
I'm trying to figure out if this is the same John Owen Thomas in my tree born in 1904 in Wisconsin.I read your BIO so I'm thinking maybe he was part of your husbands family "Thomas"? Do you know if this man married an older widowed woman named Anna (maiden name Wozniak) Riehle in 1949? He was renting a room from her. I am trying to find his DOB & DOD info & I found someone else's tree on ancestry.com that has him in their tree married to this woman and they show he was born in Abbotsford, Clark, Wisconsin in 1904, they even have wedding picture of them. Pieces feel right but I'm not sure yet. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks,
Tootz

RE: Allen Kevill #111233672
You have July 1862. The date is the 19th. I added the info from the death record for the year being 1863 due to the fact it is different from the stone. I don't expect your memorial to be changed as it does match the stone. I send the different info to maybe add as a note that there is different info out there. Death records and tombstones are secondary sources of info but sometimes a tombstone is all we have.

I'm working on a project at the courthouse and just trying to complete info. We are also helping update errors in the Register of Deeds computer system. Believe it or not Allen Kevill was indexed as Nevill, Allen Edioaed. He is now indexed correctly in their system.

Have a great day!

Joseph Zelinski
Hi Deb,
I would strongly opt for the likely situation that the church records (from which the Find A Grave list was created) were/are correct, and Joseph is indeed buried in St. Peter Cemetery, and the obit is correct. But, that there is no longer a legible gravestone in St. Peter Cemetery, or perhaps simply nothing at all at this point, thereby causing the list of legible gravestones in the county to not show Joseph. In short, nothing left to do, as there is nothing to take a picture of. Sorry :(. If you can think of anything else to do, please let me know; I will be happy to do any follow-up we can think of that makes sense.
Thx,
Bill

RE: Joseph Zielinski
Hi Deb,
Aaah, I think I've got him. Please verify for me before I drive out there. Joseph Zelinski, b. 14 April 1905, d. 5 December 1982. If these dates work, he is in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Polonia, WI. Still in Portage County, but not in St. Peter in the town of Hull. And, if this is him, thanks for the return idea!
Thx,
Bill

Steve Przybylski (Preble)
Hi Carol. I did know about the change to Steve's
last name, but didn't know where the Waverly name came in. Thanks for the info. Have you been researching the Przybylski line from Portage County, Wisconsin?

You and I connected a few years ago. You gave me some information on the Jacob Przybylski families.

As far as I know Jacob & Marianna's son Steve didn't change his name to Preble. That was George's son Jacob who used the surname Preble although Steve's son Casmer did too. All the rest of Steve's children used the surname Waverly. Steve didn't use the name Waverly on any important documents either. Seems he stayed a Przybylski.
