I started ancestor hunting about 10 years ago. I have used findagrave.com to help verify marriages, dates of birth and dates of death and locations. It has been a valuable tool. When I get a chance to take volunteer photos I also take several more and add them for the next person who maybe ancestor hunting. If I have created a memorial that is your ancestor please feel free to ask and I will happily transfer it to you. Please make sure you have your messages turned on so I can answer you.|

I tried reaching out to you about 5 years ago regarding my great grandmother, Adalaide Holcomb, but we were never able to sync up (I was too new to understand what I was doing then). I'm making a more concerted effort and am hoping to understand the connection. I have a photo that I understood to be my great grandmother and it turns out you have the same photo in your tree for Eunice Cornelia Denison. I was hoping to understand which one is correct.
Eunice would have been my 2nd Great Grandmother, Mother to my Great Grandfather John Holcomb. My grandfather is Sterling Junior Holcomb.
I would really appreciate the chance to understand the photo and to understand our connection.

There are 6000+ people in St Paul's Cemetery and there are 13 photo requests. The staff is not willing to research all of this for me to take a photo, but if you call and ask for just your location, I am sure they will help. After you get the locations let me know what they are and I will take the photos.
Their number is 304-723-0622

Thanks so much for the dates & maiden name. Are you related? Do you want a transfer?
|Sally Hall Coughanour||RE: we must be Denison cousins|
Let's see if I understood. You are descended from John Monroe Holcomb and Martha Louisa Pettigrew through their son Alwyn Ronayne Holcomb and his wife, Emma Buchmeyer?
I'm a bit disappointed that you are not a Denison. I thought I had found a new cousin, but it's nice to meet a new cousin-in-law.
Do you know of a Holcomb/Denison descendant who might be interested in submitting their research for the genealogy?
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
P.S. My daughter is named Kelly.

Because you are a Holcomb and submitted a photo of Eunice Denison Holcomb's tombstone, we must be Denison cousins. My grandfather was Henry Denison, Eunice's brother. He and his family came to Arizona, and I have lived here all my life.
Because you are interested in your genealogy, you might like to become involved in a project. The Denison Society (a nice group of nonpretentious people) is getting ready to publish the third Denison genealogy. I was trying to update my information on Eunice's family so I could submit it with the information on my Denison line. I'm pretty sure you would be the better person to do this.
If you would like to do this, you can send your basic info genealogy (name, birth, marriage, death, burial) to The Denison Society, 120 Pequotsepos Rd., Mystic, CT 06355-3043. You can also reach them online. Just search for The Denison Homestead, Mystic, CT. They would like to have all the information by December but did not say when in December. I know this is short notice, but I just found you.
Please write back to me.

You are very welcome. We are happy to have been able to fill your photo request.
|D. Ness||George Pettigrew|
I have information on the Pettigrew Cemetery from a newspaper article (1984) which shows a picture of George Pettigew's headstone. Let me know if you would like me to email this to you. The small cemetery is in very poor shape now and I think the stone is broken.

Thanks for the correction. In looking at the death certificate more closely they have her father's name spelled as Phillix McGinnis. The x is a little sloppy so I thought it must be Phillip.
