I've been doing family research for a few years now and enjoy the challenge. I hope to provide my family with info. on our family tree that will bless our lives and the lives to come. |
In the Old Testament it talks about the Prophet Elijah:
Malachi Chapter 4:5,6
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
I believe that doing are family history will do just that, turn our hearts to our fathers and our fathers hearts to us.
This is God's plan to love one another. We are all Gods children.

|Aunt Jan||Canfield children|
You're welcome. There are "cemeteries" created for Grandview Hill, Temple Hill and Fort Field. Only the Fort Field asks that no burials be submitted, but not the other two, as there are many that are still there.

You've requested headstone photos for David Jr. #6269623, Harriett #62689825 and Ellen #62689691. Unfortunately Provo City Cemetery has no record of them being buried there and they have the best burial records I've dealt with. My sister and I have even gone to the office to make certain. At the time of these children's deaths, Provo had 4 known cemeteries, Christmas Tree Cemetery at the mouth of the canyon has no records of who or how many, Fort Field, Grandview and Temple Hill were mostly emptied out to the new (current) cemetery. The first burial that wasn't a move-in was in 1856. There are several who are in unmarked and unknown locations due to a Diphtheria epidemic and people buried their loved ones during the night, leaving no record. There are also a few other small, scattered burials that are now lost.
Fort Field was in use from 1849-1850; most of these burials were moved to Temple Hill.
Temple Hill was in use from 1850-1880; most of these were move to the new (current) Provo cemetery, but not all.
Grandview Hill was in use from 1850-1879 that were mostly evacuated. There are only two burials left that are named and they are two Rasmussen sisters.
Here are link to the Provo City burial records and the Provo cemeteries history.
Bless you for not gorgetting these children.

|Angela Gilliam Johnson||Samuel Greeno|
I have been trying to update the Pisgah Baptist Cemetery in Dixon, MO. Did you ever verify that Samuel Greeno is buried there? Do you have any more information on him like wife or children?
|Brianna Butler||Karen Hansen|
I am uploading a picture of her headstone, all the dates match up on her headstone except the year she died. She died in 1883 instead of 1873.
|Lind E.||Elkins - Granddad Andrew Jackson Elkins, Sr.'s plot|
I'm guessing they were from Texas but not positive. My father & siblings lived in Houston most of their lives but also lived in Arkansas. My grandmother, his wife, moved to Louisiana where she died.

Don't know if we're kin but I'm Great Granddaughter of James & Elizebeth Elkins; Granddaughter of Andrew Jackson Elkins, SR & Era Mae Thames Elkins; daughter of Aaron C. Elkins. I'm trying to find Granddad Andrew Jackson Elkins, Sr.'s plot. If you can help, thanks! Probably your cousin Lin

Steve, I'll have to admit it was a problem to let go since this is the only record I have of her. But if it were my great grandmother I would also want management of her memorial. All I can say is I'm sorry it took me so long cousin.

Steven it was hard to let go of grandaunt Matilda, but I did. The story I heard was she was pregnant when she took that horse ride to be by her mother's sickbed and in her haste to get there caused a miscarry which ultimately caused her death.

|Cathy & Thomas||Transfer requests|
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
Because of the problems that we have had with some Find A Grave members, we do follow the guidelines.
