Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy for about 5 years, and on findagrave for about the same amount of time. They go well together. I live in Washington State sometimes, and in Southern California at other times, and have contributed photographs from cemeteries in both places, and from places in between that I visit on my travels. I love cemeteries, and have had so many family mysteries solved by the fulfillment of a headstone request. My thanks to all those findagrave volunteers. I hope I have done the same for others.

Regarding my photographs, feel free to use them in your family trees. I'm not sure what all the controversy is about copyright infringement. I may be wrong, but it seems to me like the photographs are "donated" by the volunteers to the memorials. The information on the headstones more properly belongs to the family of the deceased than to the photographer. And headstone photographs are not the original artistic works that were intended to be protected by copyright laws (though I have seen some lovely headstone photographs).

That being said, I always add "photos courtesy of findagrave volunteer" to all the headstone photographs in my tree. Which is private anyway. So I guess I'll just step out of this debate. But please, can't we all just get along?

RE: Wipflis in Wisconsin
Mary, are you by chance on Ancestry.com? I've found several trees on there that might be helpful or might shed more light on the families you're searching for. Or at least it gives an idea of how some are connected.

RE: Carl and Mildred Wipfli
Honestly, I can't tell you why they say no change -- it could be that you added the edits without pressing the edit button first (as I've done that myself) or something else odd. I am not related, but I tend to tackle whole families and then try to connect them down the line, so I suspect the Wipfli's fall into this category. I can certainly try to dig up any info I can find though if you wish. I'm happy to help.

RE: John Andrews Dilka
I wanted to let you know a book has been written about the Dollke Family: Stories of the Dilk, Dilka, Dilkey, Dilky and Wagner families from Germany by David Purtee.

It has all the family from the Vernon area in it. A Copy was donated to the Wray Public Library.

I have contact information if you are interested in obtaining a copy personally. It has John and Katie in it.

Go to the memorial and click on edit and suggest a correction and put the info in that box so I can go directly to her memorial to make the correction.

Jen Caldie-Seeger Request Filled
Hi Mary,

I am very glad to have found the Caldies for you and I hope you like the photos. The lighting was odd that day, high and low, never know what I'm going to get until I get it home on the computer and start correcting.

I imagine that Lyle and Jen bought a double plot when he passed and at the time, maybe she had no idea she would outlive him by decades, even to remarry. It's nice that the family put her second married name on the marker, too. What was the name of her second husband and is he buried in that cemetery, too? Maybe I can find him.

Lyle Caldie Request
Mary, I found the in-ground marker for Lyle's burial and the other name on the marker reads: Jen A. Seeger 1901-1994.

The marker has a little banner that reads: Together Forever. If you'd make a memorial for her and make a Request, I will upload the photo to hers, as well. Just let me know.

Julie

I will have to update my profile about the SSND memorials!

I have information about Sister Dorothy but it would be easier and I would prefer to send it in an email. My email address is in my profile.

Mary, I'm not related, I just have been working the convent cemetery. I did transfer her page to you, although it is best if you make a request for a transfer by using the edit tab on a memorial. That way you can have a copy of the email sent to yourself in case you need to follow up. It also has the memorial number and your contributor number which makes it easier. Some people will not transfer unless you follow that procedure, especially those with a high volume of memorials managed.

I don't know anything about her niece. Do you know if the niece was also SSND? If she was, I can contact one of my sources to see if she has information.
