I have spoken to the Poughkeepsie Journal (owned by Gannett Publications), who referred me back to their newspaper where is stated that all obituaries, pictures and information MAY be used by the reader in whatever way they wish, including reproduction for reposting electronically in part or whole for publishing. With this in mind it is my notification that I do have permission to post the obituaries I have placed on memorials and ask that they remain.
I am currently working on putting together a book to include the over 2,000 obituaries I have located for family members with indexing and cross-referencing. This project will probably take up most of my next few months, but I will still be posting here on Findagrave as I discover new family members. Anyone interested in copy of this book can contact me at my e-mail address. Since it is looking to be a large book, I may split into two parts: men and women.
I have been researching my family tree for about 30 years now, and just started really going through graveyards looking for family members about 20 years ago. I have found more information on the internet in the short time I have been researching here than in all the time I spent in libraries, courthouses, and town halls. I will be taking pictures of gravestones of as many people as I can and adding to local cemeteries and findagrave.com over the summer and fall of 2015. If anyone has a family member, that I have added to this site, to yourself (who is not a direct family member for myself) please let me know and I will be happy to transfer ownership to you. I'd would rather have family members maintain memorials than a stranger who has no connection, but I feel no burial place should be neglected or forgotten. If there is someone or a graveyard you wish me to find for you in the Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster County areas let me know and I will add it to my travels. My hope is to do a complete census of as many cemeteries as possible over the next few years.
Another note: for old New York newspaper articles you can use Fultonhistory.com. They have papers from the 1700's to 2000's. You can search for family members there.
One more note: I hereby give permission for all to use photos I have posted. I feel that if these are your family you have as much right to add them as I do. You do not need to ask, and I do not require you to attribute them to me, unless you wish too. It is good to find loved ones and I am happy that if I have found yours for you.

Please request all, no matter how related.I am not related to any that I have taken in these cemeteries. I am hoping now the snow has gone to expand my photographing.

Hello, I have been adding all the additions you have recommended. If these memorials are related to you I will happily transfer them. My goal is to have them all with family.
|Susan||RE: another teator|
Use as many of them as you want. But keep in mind, I sometimes abbreviate them (leave out when the funeral is, how wonderful and holy the women were in the older obits, etc.) But I always keep in family info.
Are you as sick of winter as I am?

Checked out the date, and yours is correct.
So I corrected it, and deleted the obit I added, since he doesn't require two.
Thanks for the heads up

Hi Patrick. I just got another edit that involves a Teator, so thought I'd pass it on
Max E. Rockefeller (member 48390754) sent me an edit for Sarah Rockefeller, memorial 72445635, buried North Copake, says her maiden name was Teator.

Thank you Patrick for the great info on Nehemiah. That's great! I will try the web site. And hopefully between you and Lauren M you see just what his stone says.
|Denise Bowman-Arcure||Re: Claire Bowman Straley|
I saw your memorial for Claire Bowman Straley. Are you related to Claire?
I ask because her father, Richard Bowman was the brother of my great grandfather Frank Bowman Sr.
I have just begun to work on this side of my family tree and discovered Claire is my 1st cousin 2x removed. I could use information on this branch.
Would love to chat.

Hi Patrick. Someone just sent me an edit listing Susan Killmer, 66242200, with a maiden name of Teator.
Just thought you might want to know

Hi Patrick. No time no write. I've had a wretched year full of family illnesses and other crises. And I was injured and spent 4 months in PT. But after the wretched year, I'm back, and trying to catch up.
Anyway, many months ago you wrote
The cemetery is listed under Saint Marys, but in Stanford, not Bangall.
Anyway, there aren't a lot of listing's in the St Mary's. If you have trouble finding it, go to memorial 94135628, which is one I entered, and then click on the cemetery name.
