Regarding Find A Grave Memorial# 42340012 Please add the following family information to the Memorial.

According to the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census, Stephen [R] Richards was born in Tennessee about 1838. His home at that time was Jackson, Marion County, Tennesse, and the Post Office was Jackson. In 1850 his family consisted of Harvey age 39, Darcus age 34 (his parents), and siblings Thomas age 14, Stephen age 12, Mary age 11, James age 8, William age 6, and Elizabeth age 0 (zero). In 1860 his family consisted of Naroy Richards age 49, Nancy Richards age 41 (parents), and siblings Thomas S. age 24, Stephen age 22, James F. age 15, William D. age 13, Elizabeth age 10, and Robert C. age 6. The records suggest that Stephen's parents both died and that he and his siblings were living with an uncle, Naroy Richards. Times apparently were rough because the Richards family in 1860 was living with the Robert B. and Susan A. Hurt family. The Hurt family consisted of six individuals.

The Arizona Death Certificate states that Stephen R. Richards died of pulmonary tuberculosis on July 10, 1910. Stephen's grave marker shows that he died in 1911, and that is a mistake according to the death certificate. The Certificate also shows that he was born March 3, 1838 in Tennessee, and at time of death he was age 72 years, 4 months, 7 days. His father was naved Harvey, and his mother was maiden name Smith, both from Tennessee. This information on the death certificate, his father's name being Harvey, confirms the data on the 1850 U.S. Census for Tennessee. He had been in residence in Arizona and the Prescott community for seven years and six months.
