I live in the mid-Michigan area and have been doing genealogy research for a number of years. A couple of years ago I started putting family names into the Find A Grave database, but since then I have begun adding unrelated individuals as I come across them.
I don't have time to sit down and enter thousands of names as some people do, but when I visit cemeteries for my own research I also try to write down names of unrelated individuals and take pictures of the headstones that for whatever reasons peek my interest. Sometimes it's a matter of a grave site looking especially neglected or a name interests me and so I'll pick those. It's just a small thing I do, but it makes me feel good. So not all of the memorials I have here are related to me, if someone wants a memorial transferred to him/her I don't mind doing that.
I've started to put my relatives in my virtual cemeteries so if you happen to find a name that you're researching, check my virtual cemeteries and see if the name is there. I'd love to touch base and exchange information.

Hi Pat,
It is indeed the Sally you knew that worked for the state. I have been doing this for quite a while with my brother. It started with just relatives and then I started going to cemeteries that had hardly anything on findagrave.. so my brother and I try to cover the cemetery with pictures. We are currently trying to do the cemetery near his house in Bath.. But of course, we are waiting for better weather. I still go to lunch with people that worked with me at Cass and the Grand Tower. We have a once a month gathering.
