|JC||Find a Grave - William Sharkey|
Thank you, Andrew, for the photo of William W. Sharkey's grave. It appears he was in my dad's WWII Army Air Corp crew. They were shot down on a mission over Austria by a large group of Nazi fighter planes. Finding Mr. Sharkey's grave is one more piece to that puzzle. 6 of the crew are interred together in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO; 1 is buried in an American military cemetery in St. Avold, France. Of the 3 who survived as POW's, it seems at least 2 have passed on, but I am still seeking info on the crew's pilot, John L. Sullivan of Texas. My dad says all his crew mates were great guys. Thanks again for your help Andrew.
