I was born and raised in Atlanta, but have lived most of my adulthood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Coincidentally I ended up right where my roots are on my father's side of the family. Genealogy is my passion and I never met a cemetery I didn't like. I'm also into historic preservation, both of buildings and the lives of people no longer with us.|
As the daughter of a general and great-granddaughter of 3 Confederate veterans, I like to note military records of veterans on their findagrave memorials.
I welcome corrections/additions, but will no longer link to a "burial unknown" person. I have found this leads to duplicates.
FAMILIES ON MY FATHER'S SIDE: Irwin, DeWeese, Blackwelder, Babcock, Taylor, Wilbon.
FAMILIES ON MY MOTHER'S SIDE: Bryan, Battle, Pope, Atkinson, Yarbrough, Chappell.

|Cindy Cornwell McCachern||Thank You|
Thanks so much for the photo of the marker for Ophelia Sides. I sure appreciate it.
|D McNelis||Edward Dougherty|
Thank you so much for the photo of Edward's grave marker. I live in Western Pennsylvania and that cemetery is too great a distance for me.
|Connie ||A family connection?|
You know the old saying about curiosity killing the cat? I noticed you were researching some familiar surnames and found a couple of my cousins in your virtual cemetery. Needham Bryan III and his son Clement are my 3rd and 4th cousins. I also have some Battle relatives as well. Thanks again for help. Connie

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gravestone photo's you took. Barney, Fannie and Wanda were family to me, not by blood but I knew them from VERY early childhood until their deaths. and sometimes that is more of a bond. I continued to pray someone would see my request since I'm 1000 miles from Charlotte now and unable to visit their graves. Thank you so very much! God bless you. Patti

I just found both memorials - my Mother, Virginia Burns Hunneman at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, next to my wonderful stepfather, Worth Franklin Bishop (W.F., Frank).
Thank you for your good and thoughtful work and
presentation of the memorials.
Thank you -

Susan, Thank you for adding a photo to the memorial for my uncle in the Sharon Memorial Park. We probably never would have been able to take this photo ourselves so it means a lot to us. We appreciate your find a grave work very much.
