"Genealogy Without Documentation is Mythology". "If You Can't Prove It,Don't Claim It As Fact." And let's not forget some of our Grandmas favorite euphemisms..."Saying,Thank You,Opens Many Unexpected Doors..." ~~~~~~ After the great age of using only pen, paper, stamps & libraries to do research work,I discovered the INTERNET and started way back in the early 90s working online as a local online Volunteer with the original Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness/RAOGK website operated by Doc & Bridget Schneider, working with them for over 10 years until it sadly ceased operations.I continued as a volunteer researcher,contributor,Look-Up volunteer & Cemetery Transcriber on Rootsweb,Pa-Roots & the USGenWeb Project in Pennsylvania since 1996. So with over 39 years experience as a genealogical history researcher;creating memorials here on FindAGrave is not a race, It's a quest to create accurate, useful & meaningful memorials for those who have gone before us & for all who find them here.
When using this website as a Genealogical Tool-PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR SOURCES ALONG WITH YOUR SUBMITTED EDITS TO ME USING THE 6th EDIT OPTION ENTITLED "Suggest any other correction or addition". Long form edits will sometimes land in my SPAM file,if you don't hear from me in a few days, email me direct.
My main objectives: Photograph our local cemeteries, locate lost burials & follow up with any extra researched information I can find to add to many of the memorials I have had the honor to create here on FindAGrave. All additional verified sources can be seen listed at the bottom of the memorials bio sections, which I put there for the convenience of others using this website.
So,for the folks who use this site & continue to share the information they find, freely with everyone, you have the never ending gratitude of 1000s of researchers who also use this site.I think playing together nicely in the genealogy sandbox takes into account spotlighting the good work others are doing too. Please remember that the majority of the members of this site are volunteers, both for entries & photo requests. They spend their time & money to do this out of a love for history, in order to memorialize those who have gone before & to remember family members. It requires cooperation & teamwork. If you don't like to do these things, I'll suggest that you take up a different hobby.
To those other people who go thru life with a general bad attitude ,who enjoy re-writing history to suit themselves, who feel that they are entitled & generally egotistical towards others ,those few self absorbed bullies, who feel they are exempt from following the rules....This AIN'T FACEBOOK...So keep your drama & insults to yourself ! ~~~~~~ BEWARE of transcriptions, published ,online or otherwise-Many mistakes have been found in many popular published works...I've walked these cemeteries & I verify against burial records & other multiple sources. ~~~~~~ IT'S 1st COME 1st SERVED REGARDING ALL TRANSFER REQUESTS !! Transfer requests should be for your own direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, your parents, your grandparents, your great-grandparents, your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. Explain your full relationship. "Out of guideline" transfers will be considered depending on the situation; please explain your relationship and we'll go from there.I will not transfer memorials for folks who are related to my own family lines. ~~~~~~ The Flower & Token option is for saying things like "I loved you" or "We Miss You",it's not for OBIT information and/or EDITS to memorials,JUST Send me the Edit !! ~~~~~~ If I have made a mistake or you would like me to add something please let me know through the edit tab for that memorial and include your valid sources. ~~~~~~ All messages made on my bio page for adding, correcting or requesting transfers of any of the memorials I manage, will probably get ignored & removed. Use the EDIT button on the memorial you are inquiring about !!!
I'm more than happy to add additional information on memorials, when reliable sources are provided. The new editing system does indeed provide a space ,please use the edit line option titled "suggest any other addition or correction" found under the EDIT button on each memorial & PLEASE include your sources for verification. ~~~~~~ DUPLICATE MEMORIALS & CEMETERIES: Before entering a new memorial, I always verify 1st that another memorial for an individual does not already exist. I do the same thing when looking for a particular Cemetery Database listed on FindAGrave. In turn, I ask all contributors not to create duplicates of any existing original memorials and to search thru the current cemetery database in the county you may be working in before creating a new cemetery or a new memorial. Duplicate cemeteries & memorials are at risk of being merged when found;which is as it should be according to FindAGrave guidelines. Therefore, If any contributor decides to remove their photos from a duplicate memorial or cemetery that they created that is their decision. It's also their option to leave their photos in place. Laying blame for your own personal mistakes or actions on to another contributor, such as any person who may have requested a viable merge,is simply a cop-out. ~~~~~~ Remember....Sources,citations,friendly conversations & discussions are always welcome ! ~~~~~~ - Regarding my photos, these are Copyright © by Marianne Fisher. They may be used ONLY for personal, informational & internal purposes, when accompanied by my personal written permission. They may not be modified/altered in any way OR reposted on any other web-sites for any purpose. My permission for OTHER USES when asked, will be with the stipulation that you provide a photo source citation by referencing "Find A Grave" or www.findagrave.com along with my name & contributor number in the Description. >>> I want folks to use my photos BUT they must also include the above information as a SOURCE <<<
Other photos of documents which I have added fall within the Public Domain & Fair Usage Laws-I also have obtained the required permissions to use those items in this venue. ~~~~~~~ Philippians 2:3 & 4 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interest, but also for the interest of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ." Thank you,to my good friend,Donna H.
Need local help...email me! I LIVE in JEFFERSON COUNTY TOO! I'm here to help in any way I can.

 | RE: Re-Rev John McKallip Cannot be sure who they were because I did not write down the names. There were 5-6 in the same area as the Rev., but I am pretty sure there were several others in other areas. I think there were as many as 10-12. Tom | | | R Durschinger
