Tresners
Thank you for the offer to transfer. I am not related...just families were friends. I am now in contact with Charlene's daughter on Facebook. I hope she will become interested and we can then transfer these to her.

The photo was from the Tresner Family collection, now at the Fort Collins Water Works site...in the Fort Collins museum.

I was so delighted to find it then discovered that the baby died just shortly after. So sad! It makes that photo even more special.

Finding Kay was wonderful as well. She added a lot more information about the family. I had been looking up 'Charlene' when she actually went by her middle name. I should have been looking up Florence Conley.

It is settling for several of us to know that Charlene wanted her ashes scattered at one of the historical sites, Virginia Dale.

Thank you, again and for getting back to me.

RE: Howard Sikes changes
I would be happy to send a copy of the obituary. Would you be able to send me your email so I can scan and send an attachment to you. I remember visiting his house to see his rabbits when I was very young.

Lafayette Sikes
Hi Sherri, I was just looking at your grave for Ira Sikes. Did you know there were 2 Lafayette Sikes'? The one you have listed as a son of Ira Sikes is really the son of Morgan (Find A Grave memorial #32807652) & Rebecca (Sanford) Sikes (Find A Grave Memorial #32807665.) This Lafayette Sikes also has a Missouri Death Certificate, listing M.P. Sikes & Rebecca Sanford as his parents.(see Missouri Death Certificates at http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/
Ira's son was born in Jun 1864 in Illinois (see 1870, 1880, 1900, and 1910 US Census.) He died on 10 Mar 1918 (see Find A Grave Memorial #51282793) & is buried in Pulaski Cemetery, Pulaski, Hancock, Illinois.
Clear as mud, right?

RE: Jehu Jackson photo question
Hi Sherri, Yeah i realized after i posted the photo on Jehu 1844 page that i had used the wrong photo, so i took it back off. I will go find his grave and get a picture tomorrow or Thursday. The picture on Jehu 1887 is the correct photo. That stone was in bad shape and almost seems like someone tried to make it unreadable.. but there is enough to make out it's the right one.
