RE: Allan Magrino
Wondering if this is the son of Ralph F. Magrino, a retired FDNY Captain. Ralph was a Great-Uncle of my wife's - her father was (also) a Ralph F., son of Joseph & Mary Magrino.
Thanks for your time,

Malinda Schoonover
Thanks for the tombstone photo of Malinda. I see on her memorial that you have posted a photo of two tombstones together. By any chance, is the second tombstone of her husband William? I have not had any luck finding William. There is a William G Schoonover buried in Kansas with the right age year of birth, however he is linked to his wife Elizabeth. Perhaps William remarried after Malinda died in 1867 and moved to Kansas?

RE: Schoonover Graves
You are simply amazing! I just looked at the pictures and they brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy. Thank you again for all the time and effort you took to find these graves. This was not an easy search.
I am going to add these pictures to my Tree tonight.Feel free to check it out if you are interested...Dutch cousins on

I do so hope to visit Stillwell some day and I will definitely visit the historical society. A funny twist to my ancestry search- my 5th great grandfather, Hendricus Schoonhoven's sister Francyntje married Thomas Brink who is my husband's 6th (I think) Great Grand Uncle. The Brinks, the Schoonovers and the Swartouts among other of our relatives, lived in Stillwell and Walpeck for many years. Someday Mark and I will get there!

RE: Schoonover Graves
Hi Betty,
Thank you so much for the lovely pictures. If it turns out that there actually is a Schoonover grave hidden there, I would be most excited. I can't thank you enough for all the time and effort you have put into the search. The graveyard looks lovely, and it looks like my grandmother and her son have had a beautiful resting place all these years.

I would love to add the pictures to my Tree, if you don't mind. It is a Public tree, so I will not do so without your permission.

I will try not to get my hopes up about the hidden grave. I will be waiting to hear - whenever you have the time.

RE: Schoonover Graves
Dear Betty,

Thank you so very much for all your efforts. I look forward to seeing the map and pictures when you get a chance. Always sad to see these memorials displaced, but I will be so happy to see the picture of the area. Some of my family were buried in the graveyard of Dutch Reformed church in Kingston, New York in the early 1700s, and their graves have disappeared as well.

Have a wonderful summer,
Susan S. Mahnken
