No trouble, sir! Just finished the book myself, and loved it! Lots of good info!
|Sheila||Margaret Cage McKinney|
Since I have already butted in on your inquiry and family, I found a copy of Margaret's death certificate with her date of death, showing Jan 13, 1916. I would be glad to send the death certificate to you, if you do not already have.

I am not Melissa but I saw your question about Center. It shows to be part of the Glasgow statistical area, even though Glasgow is in another county....Barren. Center used to be called Frederick or Lafayette. It was named Center because it is in the center of 4 county seats. The cemetery, according to a genealogical site, is located on Hwy 1243 in Metcalf co.

|MNew||RE: Williamson Meadows - Correction|
Thanks for your reply. And you are correct that the newspaper article appeared Sept 28, 1909 (a review of my personal notes confirms the '09 date). Sorry for my earlier mistake.

Timmy, I believe your listed parents for Williamson M Meadows is half incorrect. His father was a David R Meadows, born about 1822 probably in or near Warren County TN, and died either during or after the Civil War. Williamson's mother was Lydia Hill, also born about 1822 in Tennessee, so you had the correct mother. David and Lydia married in Van Buren County, TN on 28 Nov 1840. This family lives in Shelby County, TN during the 1850 Census, and then in Clark County, AR for the 1860 County. My grandmother on my mother's side was a daughter of Mary Tennessee Hawks-Carpenter (Mary and her 1st husband Elijah Carpenter are also buried there in Shannon Cemetery.) Mary Tennessee's mother was an Avarilla Meadows. Avarilla was an older sister of Williamson M Meadows. If I can be of any other help in this family, please let me know.

Thanks so much for the transfer, I will get right to work.
|Fred Downs||Correction to my previous message|
I mistakenly said that marriage record was for William F. McFelea. It should have read Lewis F. McFelea.
Sorry for any confusion this probably caused.
|Fred Downs||Lewis Franklin & Louisa McFelea.|
Today in the Hart Co., KY marriage records,I found a record of the 12 Dec 1857 marriage of William F. McFelea age 24, born Barren Co., KY to Louisa Slinker age 20, born Green Co., KY. I double checked the spelling of Louisa's last name. If her name was Sinclair, then the clerk who recorded their marriage misspelled her name.
What are your thoughts on this?

I got your email and I've linked his memorial to his parents. Since you are family, I would be happy to transfer his memorial into your care if you wish.
