When I was growing up, my parents would take me back to Ewing, Nebraska for family reunions and funerals. They would take us kids through the cemetery and point out headstones and tell us stories. When I was going to college in Pasadena, CA I began going to the Forest Lawn Cemeteries for their park like settings and to view the wonderful artwork there. I stumbled upon STAN LAUREL's headstone in Hollywood Hills. Searching for celebrity graves became a hobby for me and when people would visit me I would take them on tours of many cemeteries. I have attended Sammy Davis Jr.'s funeral and was present when Andy Gibb was laid to rest. |
I now live in Columbus, GA and when I discovered Find A Grave Website I was very happy. I am so glad to be a contributor to this sight.

I would be happy to take a pic of the rear of the stone, and any others that you'd like to have, next time we are in the area. We knew your parents and grandparents, my wife used to baby sit for two of your brothers, many many years ago.

Thank you very very much for the pics! That was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I didn't know they were buried in a mausoleum but I LOVED the pics you took!
Many thanks for your efforts!

THANK YOU so much for obtaining and posting the photo of the headstone for Elmer E. Cox in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.
I was wondering if you were able to also take a photo of his wife's - looks like they have a dual headstone - Naomi M. Cox - Find A Grave Memorial# 38548911. If you were able to take that one, would you also post it?

I just want to say thank you for fulfilling my photo request so quickly. I was delighted to find them online this morning. Aunt Frances was a very funny and loving woman and as a little girl I looked forward to each of her visits. Thank again

Charmain - I noticed you claimed two of my requests for the Mainor family.
If you haven't already taken the pics, would you take a pic of the family plot and an "overall" pic so as to give me a perspective of where the graves are located within the cemetery.
Thank you so much!

Dear Charmaine Crabb, thank you for the photos from the cemetery where my grandparents, John F Smith and Esther Williams, are buried. I was really worried about the state of the grave especially after my grandmother passed in 2007. I don't want them to be forgotten. I need to drive down from Atlanta in the fall and put out some flowers. Thank you for your time, I feel much better. Wynn Smith.

That was the quickest I've ever had a request filled. You don't know how much this means to us. I live in VA and probably will not make it back to GA. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!
Bea. and Van
Thank you for getting the pictures.

You're welcome....my son and I like to look up and visit the final resting place of 'notables' while fulfilling photo requests as well. My great nephew [huge NASCAR fan] recently visited the grave of Sam McQuagg, Professional Race Car Driver [NASCAR ] who died Jan. 3, 2009, while traveling through Georgia. Don't know if you
are 'interested' or live near the cemetery he is laid to rest in but it is:
Park Hill Cemetery 4161 Macon Road

Couldn't help but notice in your bio you like to visit 'famous interments' and wondered if while at Green Acres photographing Ricky Scott's memorial if you also visited the grave of Singer, Songwriter Willie Denson? He is best-known for his hit song "Mama Said,"
