Gidea Hall Cemetery - the Cookes
Hi Michael.
Having done a little research into this area I think it probable that this place no longer exists. Have attached a link to the history of Raphaels Park which seems to be part of the grounds of the old hall, and this includes some details about the hall itself. No mention of a graveyard either in here or the wikipedia entry.

Could they have been buried elsewhere?

Thanks for the reply and directions. This also sounds like the same cemetery and directions as the Rich Family Cemetery. Wonder if they are the same?

Richard and Ambrose Willis
Hello Michael

I have added a couple of pictures for Richard and Ambrose. It is primarily for Richard although it mentions that he is the son of Ambrose. I have checked at the Record Office and there is no other headstone/plaque for Ambrose Willis in the churchyard - there might have been in the past but the headstones are very badly worn and mostly illegible now unfortunately.

Can you tell me where this cemetery is? I live in Monroe County. The two identified graves are my 3rd great grandparents...Thomas and Lucy Thomas Hood.

Martin Family Cemetery
This gravesite in in deep brush and fallen trees, with a large tree across some stones. It consists on one uptight marker and one tablet marker and several mounds of dirt and stone that may be a grave site. I have been there twice. It is not easily accessible at this time of the year and I would like to wait until winter cuts back on the undergrowth. I don't know if you have looked at all the 4 pictures taken of the site but they were all done in winter and it's still rugged.
Thanks for your consideration.

Susan Harris headstone
Mr. Pitcock, I have located the grave of Susan Harris, but I can't get to it until this fall, after the corn has been combined and the last cutting of hay has been cut and bailed. The grave is located behind 50 acres of corn in a hayfield. The McCoun lady ask us to wait until the fall to go back there. She told us the name on the stone and said they had kept it mowed at one time but a combine had knocked the stone over and it needed to be put back up. I don't know if they intend to do this or if we can do it. We will try when we get back to the grave. However, I will get the picture for you as soon as possible.
