Time moves quickly, while I've been a member for over 3 3/4 years to this site, I have been working on my family genealogy in spurts for quite some time. I appreciate all of the help people from this site have given me!
Looks like I'm following descendents (YOUNG & SHAW) linked to the Revolutionary War & Mayflower. Exciting!
Today, while entering Woodside interments, the counter entered/turned to 14,000 memorials in the cemetery.
Now that I am doing photo requests, I have developed a deeper respect for those who have been doing it for a long time. It's a lot of work but - quite rewarding at the same time. By following the family name in research and headstone photos, one feels a kinship to that family.
I do ask one favor of anyone who would like to use photos from my memorials. Please ask permission before you "borrow" my images to use in your own tree (it helps me find connections for my own research) and, at the very least, cite my name as the researcher and owner of the image @ Find-a-Grave. Do that as a courtesy to me, since I did do the leg work & am sharing.
Feel free to leave flowers or sponsor any of the memorials. All ladies love flowers. I try to leave flowers @ memorials for young children and veterans.
Best of luck to us all! | |

 | Elsie Crayne Beverly, thank you for posting my aunt's memorial to Find A Grave. Sad to say, I was released from the hospital the same day I received the notice from my cousin. If not related, would you consider transferring the memorial to me to maintain? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ted Crayne | | | James Lee Sorrell, III

 | Ascha Randall Huey Hoffman Hi, I thought I would see if you know any further info on Ascha. I have that she was first married to William Huey, then to George Hoffman. On the Greenwood Cemetery site, it states George Hoffman died 1979 and owners of plot are he and his wife Caroline. Therefore I believe this is why I can't find Ascha. I'm trying to see when she died, but have had no luck as I think she may have remarried again/different name. Just wanted to see if you had any added info or not. Thanks! | | | anbuckeye3
 | Robert Randall Thank you for the added info. I have that in my tree as well- at first I did not know for certain if the Robert Randall in the Somerville cemetery was the same as my 3rd great-grandfather. Now I see he is, after all these years I found his resting spot! Now I need to search Indiana records to see if I can get exact dates for him.
Thank you very much for your help! | | | | [View all messages...] |
