Thanks for fixing my grandma's memorial! :)
|Elizabeth Cohoe||RE: Robert Cohoe|
Hi Jan, I have a bad feeling that I somehow missed this message and did not reply. Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I do have a tree on ancestry and it is public. If you are already a member, I think you could access it without an invitation. I have labelled it "Cohoe/Broadfoot Family Tree". My original question came from a distant relative who was asking for help in finding out about his birth father who was Robert Allende Cohoe. I'm sorry it has taken so long to answer this! Elizabeth

Hi Jan, thank you for your speedy reply. We Cohoe's are all related in one way or another, and I am trying to help someone find one of his ancestors who was originally from Wisconsin, and had the name of Robert A. Cohoe. I found reading about the Wisconsin group really interesting. They are distant cousins to me. These people are also on someone's tree on ancestry.com, although Robert was not included there. I have found that the findagrave site is suddenly growing by leaps and bounds.

I see a comment that Charles Cohoe had a younger brother Robert. Would you mind please telling me where that information came from? I have been searching on ancestry.com and no one with a tree with Charles includes his younger brother. Thank you very much. Elizabeth Cohoe

You should not take pictures from usgenweb and put on find a grave without permission from the original taker. Pictures of usgenweb are copywritten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to give you some more information on my Great Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Hanna (GARSIDE) LEWIS, Memorial #42815936. (I am curious, is she one of your ancestors?)
She was born in Salem (Columbiana) Ohio. She and Elisha J. LEWIS married in Grant Co. Wisconsin on 25 Sep 1867. They moved to Denison (Crawford) Iowa where Elisha's brother Edwin and his wife were. One month after she gave birth to my Great Grandfather William Garside LEWIS she died on their first wedding anniversary from an infection/complications resulting from the birth. Her sister Mary raised my Great Grandfather as per her request. I am trying to locate Elisha J. LEWIS who is buried in Fresno California. I think he is buried in a mosoleum out there somewhere. I am on a quest to locate him! Anyway, as soon as I do, I will let you know and we can then connect her to him on here.
I have a cousin who has some of her letters! (Isn't that awesome?) She wrote about their move to Denison, which was interesting to read.
Anyway, I know that Elisha was distraught over the death of Elizabeth and couldn't bear to live in Denison, so he moved to Nebraska and became a newspaper editor there. Later he remarried and moved to Fresno. (Some of us believe that he and his father moved to California because of the gold). He was a newspaper editor there as well. He was so well respected, Lewis Ave. in Fresno, California was named after him. I am trying to contact someone out there to find out why.
Hope this info is useful to you.
Jan: You have done an excellant job on the Cohoe memorials. Most people on Find A Grave are grave counters. They don't known the people. Keep up the good work. Donnie and your 4th Cousin Sandra.

Thanks indeed for the high praise. I'll start pages for the other Withingtons I found and transfer them to you. It might be a couple of days.
Thank you so much for making our grandmother's page. It means a lot. We were very young when she died but we would've liked to have known her better. Very few of us remember her when she drove around and left the house. However only a few of us remember the worst parts of her illness. Thanks again for doing this. If you dont mind us asking how do you create a person's page? Did you know my grandmother or do you find people in the obituaries? If you dont want to answer this thats fine. We're still happy you did it.

Thank you for the wonderful memorial you created for my 3rd great grandmother. I have linked her first husband and two more of her children to her.
