Bio and Links
Bio Photo I grew up in Bartholomew County, north of Columbus IN. My dad's German ancestors were Roths, Wolfs, and Otts.

On my mom's side, I have located ancestors' graves in KY at Richmond and Paint Lick, and in TN at Beans Creek, Chestnut Mound, Lafayette, and Red Boiling Springs.

Richmond, Madison Co. KY: Col. John Miller (founder of Richmond) and his wife Jane Dulaney. Capt. Archibald Woods.

Paint Lick, Garrard Co. KY: Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Millers named above and widow of William Kavanaugh, remarried Thomas Kennedy.

Beans Creek, Franklin Co. TN: Mourning Shelton Woods, wife of Archibald Woods. Their son William Woods and his wife Mary Harris. Their daughter Samirimis who married John Miller Kavanaugh.

Chestnut Mound, Smith Co. TN: Lucy Ann Kavanaugh and her husband James Ward Draper in a family cemetery on Dillard Creek Road.

Several ancestors in cemeteries in Macon Co. TN (family names: Roark, West, White).

Woods Family
Your Find A Grave posting/bio leads you back to your ancestor of Archibald Woods (did I follow that correctly?). Did you know there is a book written about our Woods family? Archibald's parents were William Woods & Susanna Wallace. William's parents were Michael Woods and Mary Margaret Campbell. Michael's parents were John Andrew Woods and Elizabeth Wors(h)op. And that is where my line connects. I descend from John Andrew Woods and Elizabeth Wors(h)op, my 7th great grandparents, through their son, William Woods, and his wife, Martha Drake. From there I descend through son James Woods and his wife, Catherine Allen. James and his family settled in Brown County, Ohio. A couple of years ago I was in the house in Brown County which, built by a son but where this couple lived and died, has some historical value. It's now in deplorable condition and dangerous to enter. Near the house, now grown over by trees and brush, is the Woods family cemetery. I've got photos of the house if interested.

Re Garland and Mourning Miller
I will fulfill your photo request in a moment. Re the location - Travel east from Fayetteville square thru 1 traffic light, you will be headed straight toward the church. Turn right down a narrow street when reach the church and you will immediately pass the new part of the cemetery on your left. Park in lot immediately below the cemetery and to your left as you pass the corner of cemetery. If you park in the 2nd or 3rd parking place from the narrow street you just came down, just south of the cemetery, the Miller stones will be almost right in front of you. The steps into the cemetery will be to your right.

RE: William Woods

I graduate this past December with the M.A. from the Seminary. I am just now completing my first 8 week sub-term in the Ed.D. program through Liberty University. How have you been? I notice that you and your husband are both educators. That is interesting as it seems there is many educators in our bloodline. Thank you for contacting me.

Hello Cousin
I will do as you request. It is amazing how technology can bring distant relatives together. I would be glad to correspond. Our Woods-Wallace-Campbell ancestors have an interesting story and rich legacy. I know quite a bit about our line if you would like information or would like please let me know. Also if you would like to what you have concerning our ancestors please do so. I am in the process of finishing a Ed.D. with Liberty University so I do not get to do much genealogical research as I would like. Do you have any connection with the Franklin County, TN Woods's? or is our connection terminated with William Woods and Susanna Wallace? Well it is nice hearing from you.
