W H Calleck - Photo Request
A very belated thank-you, William, for your dogged efforts to locate the grave of my Great Grandfather, W H Calleck (Collick) at Delamar Cemetary, Idaho. I'm sorry that your several attempts at locating his grave eventually met with disappointment. My brothers and I are however very grateful for your valiant attempts on our behalf.

RE: W Calleck Update
Hello again, Willard. Many thanks for your on-going efforts on our behalf and especially for speaking with the representative from the Owyhee County Pioneer Cemetery Board.

All I know about the possibility of my great-grandfather's interment site being at Delamar is from the FindAGrave entry made by a Christine Storey who listed 56 interments, including his name, at Delamar cemetary. This is the notation at the bottom of the entry for W H Calleck:

Created by: Christine M. Storey
Record added: Jun 30, 2009
Find A Grave Memorial# 38918049

We don't know Ms.Storey, nor do we know how she arrived at the information recorded. I appreciate the information you have imparted, namely that he may not be interred there.

Any further help you might be able to give will be greatly appreciated.

Incidentally, We do know that the spelling of our great-grandfather's name is incorrect as it was really COLLICK. However, he would have had a strong Cornish (South-West England)accent and we think that the Registrar, or whomever recorded his death, might well have spelt it the way it sounded.

RE: Re: Delamar Cemetary, Idaho
Many, many thanks Willard. I'm sorry that you and your wife had a wasted journey but at least we now know more about the situation, as regards access (or otherwise) to the graveyard. My brothers and I greatly appreciate your efforts and look forward to learning the result of your enquiries through the mining company in due course.

Re: Delamar Cemetary, Idaho
Further to our previous contact, I am wondering if you might be heading anywhere near Delamar Cemetary, Owyhee County in the not too distant future?
