Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always been interested in history. My venture into genealogy in 2001 led me to Find a Grave as an additional source of information. My grandmother passed away in 1993 at the age of 99. She had quite a bit of information which my father was able to pass to me.

I have served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 2007 until my retirement on 1 September 2007. The Navy allowed me to travel all over the world and see many cultures. My best tour was in Yokosuka, Japan. My mom and I were both born in Sendai, Japan, so this trip allowed me to meet family I did not know. We left Japan when I was 9 months old.

My father told me we were related to Davy Crockett. I finally was able to confirm that my great great great great great grandmother was Davy Crockett's second wife Elizabeth Patton.

Re: Harriet Garey Terry Gilbrith
Hi, I think we are distant cousins through the Garey line. Aunt Harriet was my gg-grandma's sister.
Just wanted to let you know I put up a photo of Harriet's marker on her page. The surname on it was her fourth husband's, Gilbrith. Denten Creek is right down the road and I stop by there every now and then. Had a request to fill there a couple of days ago and the sunlight was right so took a couple of Aunt Harriet's too. Will be back there next week if you would like any others. If you need any Garey info that I may have, let me know.

Joseph Miller
Thanks for the photo of Joseph Miller's gravestone. He came west to Tipton County TN from what was then Rowan (now Davidson County) NC. Joseph was the son of John Miller, known as Broadhorn, who lived on the west side of Abbotts Creek in Cotton Grove, south of Lexington, NC. His father, his mother Mary, and brothers Major John Miller and Benjaminn Miller (and their wives and families) are buried in a family cemetery there that we have restored.
