Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching for about 35 years. I live in Pennsylvania but am originally from Maryland. I am very happily married with 2 daughters and 2 sweet grandkids. I have found the other contributors to be very helpful and generous. I wish I would have found this site a long time ago. Some other interests that I enjoy are spending time with my husband, sewing, quilting and writing a beginner's cookbook.

RE: Lewis Schisler
I am still trying to find an obit, since i dont even have a year its like a nail in a haystack, lucky its an unusual name. I have seen it spelled schissler also. I am wondering if we are related. I have not come across many in maryland. My gr-gr-gr-grandmother was Catherine Eva Schisler who was born in 1838 born in Bayern, Germany, came here with family in 1846. her parents were i think Mary and George Schisler. She had siblings, John H. born 1840, Henry born 1843, Elizabeth born 1846 and Margaret born 1850. So your Lewis fits in that time frame. They stayed in Baltimore and most are buried in Loudon Park. Catherine Schisler married Henry Wagner who lived in Harford County, so that is where Lewis is buried. I will go through more census and see what i can find.
