 | RE: Samuel Young Rick, The Samuel Young you found is indeed my Samuels Uncle. That Samuel was born in 1907 and I have tons of information on him. Just nothing on my Samuel. Maybe everything that is to me known about my Samuel, Louisa and Thomas J took with them to their graves. I would just like to lay flowers on his grave wherever that may be before I go to my own. He is my big mystery in the family tree. I appreciate your help.

 | RE: Samuel Young Rick, I believe he was born in Georgia around 1837. In 1860 he was living in Randolph County Alabama. I have spoken with Montgomery Alabama and they have no record of him joining in Alabama. I'm not sure what state he joined in or if he was just a citizen and went to help out and joined the nearest brigade. There are a lot of unanswered questions. As far as I know Louisa Benefield Young never filed for his pension and shortly after the end of the war she married Harvey Hester.

 | Bertha Brown I'm sorry - that's probably in error. However, I have made changes on some entries at the request of others. I now have a different personal rule: don't post anything that is not on the marker. I will transfer this one to you. | | | Jerry Owen
 | Crouch/Bratton Rick, I added the date for Virginia, but that's the best that I can do today.
Virginia Crouch is not in the Tippah Co Heritage Book, and there are no Brattons at all.
Durrell E. Bratton died in Tupelo, Lee Co., Ms, but there is no record of his burial, at Find A Grave, in Mississippi.

 | RE: Herbert Simmons Thanks, here's a link to her in the 1940 yearbook. She's on page 30.

 | RE: Simmons Family You're welcome! :) | | | Linda Wayman
 | RE: Herbert Simmons Rick, I did a search using his number and it took me right to him. I had tried that previously with another number and it did not work. Thanks for the info.
I added your mother's cousin to the Memphis Tech Virtual Memorial. I looked through the online yearbooks and couldn't locate him. He must have gotten there too late to have his picture taken for the yearbook, so I didn't add the year of his senior class since I'm not certain about it.
Thanks again for the information.

 | RE: Herbert Simmons Do you mind telling me which cemetery he is buried in or if he was cremated? I don't know how to look someone up just by using a number and there are 133 Herbert Simmons. I would love to add him to the Virtual Memorial. Thank you. Linda | | | Karen Kessler
 | RE: Simmons Family Rick,
I'll be happy to transfer them over to you so you can update and manage them! I am not related to them...I am trying to add as many as I can from Memorial Park right now and hope to go back through them to add bios. However, since you are related to them and have the information, I had rather transfer them to you.
Can you find the ones you have the information on and request a transfer through the "edit" option on the memorials? This is all still new to me, but I understand that is the easiest way to handle it.
Thanks and I'm glad I came across them to help you!
