Marie Anna Sott
Hi Valerie,

I have a question about the memorial for Marie Anna Sott if you don't mind. She is buried with my great-great grandfather, Joseph Sott (Schott). I'm trying to figure out if Marie Anna is "Annie Sott," found in the 1900 census. The odd thing is that based on information from my family, "Annie" married someone with the last name Siedel, which doesn't match up well with this Find a Grave memorial with her dying at 19.

Any information you have about Joseph Sott/Schott and his family would be appreciated! He is still somewhat of a mystery to me.

Svoboda family
I have Sophia Antonia Swoboda (Mrs. James Stanton), born Aug 1861, from Kingdom of Bohemia and living in Baltimore, Md. Later various records list: Austria, Czechoslovakia, Republic of Poland. I don't have anything for her parents. She died sometimes after 1930. Do you think there could be a connection?

Marie Koutnik, nee Kyzour
Dear Valerie,
I found information about person Marie Koutnik, nee Kyzour here. And now I found this family tree also on

Perhaps I have more info about Marie, but I am not sure if she is the same person which I have in my genealogical remarks:

I know couple Frank Koutnik and Marie Koutnik, nee Kyzour. They came to U.S. in 1879. They were from Bohemia (now Czech Republic).
Frank Koutnik was shoemaker from Lisnice village, he married Marie on November 25th, 1873. Marie was daughter of farmer Tomas Kyzour from Podoli.

Please, do you have more info about them? Can you confirm my hypothesis?

I have sent you my contact on Please look to your message box on Thank you.

Jiri Koutnik

RE: William David Finecey
I had not heard of that name before. I know he was married more than a few times. If you could email that article to me I would love to have it,

Thank You.

Weitz in Bohemian Cemetery
Hi, Valerie!
I'm helping my sister research her mother-in-law's family, which includes the Weitzes you've added to Bohemian Cemetery. She asked me to find out if you're related to them at all.

RE: Joseph & Matilda Sadilek
Valerie, thanks so much for the additional information on the Joseph and Matilda Sadilek. No headstones, huh. If this is "my" Joseph, I'm told he was not a nice man. So much so that one son changed his last name and the other ran away. Very sad.
Appreciate the follow up,
