RE: Icarian Cemetery in Adams County Iowa
Thanks so much, Joe, for your in depth reply back to me on the Cemetery and its occupants. It will probably be one of the last ones we look at in Adams County as we didn't believe there were military stones there either. Blessings, Barb

Icarian Cemetery in Adams County Iowa
Did you do the memorial pages for the burials in Icarian Cemetery in Adams County Iowa? My question to you is this - are there gravestones to mark the graves or are the names just located on the memorial plaque on the rock? We are trying to locate the burial places of Civil War Veterans in Adams County. Any help you can give me about this cemetery would be appreciated. Thanks! Barb

Covey
Hi Joe,
Just checking to see if you know of a RALPH COVEY. My cousin just sent me an e and found a baby photo of him.
She is the Grand-daughter of Dick and Bernice Groet who lived by the Truax corner years ago. Since you are from the area, thought you might know of him
Regards

RE: Thanks
I can't remember when we communicated last, but I have been able to get a lot of info on Sarah Price Chilton and her siblings. Two of her brothers were miners also: one in Ohio and one in Illinois. I know the info about David Price because I was able to get the cemetery records from Schuylkill Co. PA.
Two of her other brothers stayed in the area and I believe I have located one of her sisters-Ann Price Broome. If there is any of this info you want, my e-mail is joannvestal@aol.com.

RE: Thanks
I have not checked this site for a long time. David Price father of Sarah Price Chilton was born in 1800 in Wales and was killed in a mining accident in St. Clair PA. in August of 1853. He is buried at the Old Welsh Cemetery in St. Clair, PA. After his death, his wife Martha Price remarried another miner, 15 years her junior, Wm. Morgan. I found them in the 1860 Census of Schuylkill Co. PA. I can find no record of them after this date.

RE: COVEY surname
That is very interesting about Auburn. One of my great Uncle VerPloegh's played baseball at Rochester. I have a photo of you. I am from the Scott family of Jefferson twp. Mahaska co Iowa. I am sure you may have had a cousin or two in your class. Dale Littlejohn, Doyle Scott, perhaps Judy Scott. I remember going over the Givin bridge on the way to Eddyville to visit an Aunt Lavon Brown and her husband Frank. They owned and published the Eddyville paper. The world just gets smaller and smaller :)
