|Sean Paul Murphy||RE: Elizabeth|
I believe I am correct. Here's my notes.
Eliesa Margaret was baptized St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stokesville, Va. Sep 28, 1834. The record indicates she was born Aug 30, 1834; father William, mother Catherine. She can also be found in the 1900 Federal Census, North River District, Augusta Co., Va. SD284 ED29 PG6b D120 F120. The listing reads: Hise, Elizabeth, widow, head, 66, born 1834 in Virginia; and Hise, Sarah J., daughter, 19, born March 1881 in Virgina. The family can also be found in the 1910 Federal Census, Augusta Co., Mt Solon SD10 ED35 PG14b D255 F259 Stokesville. The listing reads: Elizabeth widow, 11 children, 8 alive; Sarah, divorced, 1 child, 1 alive; and Hise, Charlie, grandson, 7, 1903, Va. Charlie should be a Spellman.
She was the daughter of William Sheffer and M. Catharine Crum, the daughter of Jacob Crum, who was born in Germany, and Mary Ann Cline, who was born in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany.
I received this information from a Crum family researcher. I didn't do all of the legwork myself. Are you a descendant of that line?
