I am particularly interested in the Flora family which probably originated in Quebec under the name LaFleur (with variations) and who settled in Jefferson County, New York and the surrounding area. I am also interested in Larrabee (pick your own spelling) and Lester, of upstate NY (and possibly Michigan) as well as the Sankey family from Pennsylvania, and the Woodside family from Pennsylvania and Kentucky...

Nelson William Flora
I was not sure if you already had this info on Nelson, but thought since I was already up here I would message you. I came across the U.S., World War II Draft Registration Card, 1942 for Nelson William Flora, while working on my tree.

It can be found on Ancestry.com and probably some military sites. He working for the Austin Bridge Company which was out of Dallas and living in Fort Worth, Texas at the time. He was getting his mail at the stock yard post office and gave E. A. Kirkpatrick as a contact.

Hope that's helpful.

RE: Misplaced Photo
You are correct. I apologize. I visit the Barracks quite often to retrieve requests. This weekend I will will get the correct photo for James R. Jamison Jr.

RE: Nelson Flora
You're more than welcome to the transfer. The cemetery that Google is calling Brier Bend Cemetery is Tonk Valley Cemetery. I don't know why they call it Brier Bend. I guess because it is located just about where you enter the Briar Bend area of the Brazos River. I was born and raised in the Tonk Valley Community area and had never heard it called anything except Tonk Valley Cemetery until I saw it on the internet. Beats me !!

Regards,
DB

RE: Nelson Flora

Good to hear from you again, Jack. I have transfered the memorial to you. I will get back with you about your questions. I can tell you that the Tonk Valley Cemetery has never been called Briar Bend Cemetery except possibly by someone who didn't know any better.

RE: Nelson Flora
Jack,
What is his birthday; I will change it. The info that I posted was taken from a Young County Cemetery Census which most times is right but sometimes is wrong. I have walked that cemetery several times to get pictures of all headstones that I could find. I did not find one for Nelson Flora. I would be willing to look again if you feel that there should be one.

Since I'm not after numbers, I would be willing to transfer his memorial to you if you wish.

Kind regards,
D. Brown
