GILMAN
Hello and greetings from England.

My husband's grandfather was born in America in 1886 and I am currently looking for the source of the Gilman name. It's quite complicated but one of my trails has led me to John Gilman, his wife Lizzie and son Edward. John hailed from Redfield, Oswego County, NY but moved to St. Louis, Missouri in later life. I am trying to piece together his life story, just in case it fits in with the one I have. I know from the book "The Gilmans of Conneticut" that he had a son Edward, so am wondering if it is the baby you have posted details for on Find-A-Grave, buried in the now defunct Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Are there any more details concerning Edward's parents please?

If you can help in any way, I would be very much obliged as researching from so far away is very difficult.

Very many thanks and a happy Easter to you and yours.

please correct Effie Wesson's death date. The gravestone picture says 1937, but the transcription says 1957. She is my great-great-grandmother. Thanks.

Anna M and Henry Comstock
Hello,
Thanks for all your extensive work on Find A Grave! From far away in NC it certainly helps me track my NY family and those who settled "out west". I'm wondering if you can help me verify that Henry Comstock has NO type of Veteran Marker with his headstone/plot that you already have posted. Henry is indeed a Civil War veteran and there is plenty of documentation related to his service and pension, so I could apply for a marker, but want to make sure there is nothing there already. (He is a 1st cousin 4x removed, but we share a great grandfather on his mother's Berry side)
Also, may I have your permission to use his and his wife's headstone pics on my ancestry.com tree, with credit to you of course?

Thanks,
Kathy
