Bio Photo If I leave an Iris, this means that the memorial page is for someone in one of my family trees. Some are 'just' a connection, but they are connected to me somehow!

My paternal grandmother grew irises in front of her living room windows.

I will transfer a memorial page to you if you are a descendant/relative. Please give your details in a private message. Do this by clicking on "Edit" in the memorial you would like to have transferred, and then on "Suggest a correction or provide additional information."

Note: I pride myself on responding quickly to requests, but my schedule does not always cooperate. Occasionally I go on vacation!

Diamond Jenness
I tried to fulfill your photo request for Diamond Jenness, however was unable to find a stone on the plot (Section 37, plot 51 SE grave 1), but unfortunately there was not one. The plot actually belongs to the family of his late wife, so I know I had the right spot. It is located directly behind the Pratt plot, for which there is a stone. I took a photo of the area and will upload that instead.

Hello. I made one suggestion regarding one of a Superkentman's (a fallen graver) memorials and Find A Grave re-assigned quite of few of his to me. I have no interest in or info on this person/family so I will transfer to you as you seem to have some ideas/knowledge. Thanks! Kathy_G

RE: Hugh Ross 79th Cameron Highlanders
Hi Karen,

Thank you for this information. Hugh Ross Sr. (1788-1863) is my 3rd great grandfather.

Hugh Ross Sr (1788-1863)
Hugh Ross Jr (1836-1885)
Percy Walter George Ross (1883-1947)
Robert James Ross (My grandfather)
Ronald Robert Ross (My father)

I just realized that I had several messages from folks that I never knew were there. Three years later I am now answering those posts! Now that I am connecting the dots I believe I just found a message from you and replied on there. Is this a good place for us to connect?

Hugh Ross 79th Cameron Highlanders
Hello Karen,

I am the 3rd Great Grand Daughter to Hugh Ross (Memorial # 37113328). I am doing research on my family tree and see that you have incredible details about this ancestor of mine.

The source you document is "Source: "Record of the Noncommissioned Officers, Trumpeters, or Drummers and Privates of His Majesty's Regiment of Foot 79th Cameron Highlanders""

You indicate that he is on page 85 of this document. I am having a hard time locating this document and finding him on page 85. Do you have a link to this document? The closest thing I can find is located here but I can't find Hugh listed in this unless he wen't by a different name. Thank you so much for your help with this. My father and grandfather are going to be so excited when I share the new source with them.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Take care!

Becky Ross

Fosli Family
Hi Karen,

Was doing a little research on my Fosli line and came across your entry on Find A Grave for Marianne #39935554. I happened to notice her name a few up from one of my relatives on a ship coming to America. They both came from the same community and I was wondering if they were related.

My ancestor is Olaf Mathśus Pettersen Fosli (1891-1961) and he's the son of Nikoline Olsdatter of Tinglum and Petter Adolph Mikalsen.

I was wondering if you knew there was a connection between Marianne's father Nils and Olaf's father Petter.

Orman Beecher's birth year
Thanks, I changed it. Actually, I noticed that the newspaper article already on the page listed his birth year as 1839. I decided that my reading of "Aged 68 yrs" on his grave marker must have been a misreading of "Aged 58 years." It's difficult to tell from the marker photo. It's such a tragic story: he killed himself and left a wife and children.
