PLEASE DO NOT POST CHANGES OR MAKE REQUESTS FOR TRANSFERS, THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE ON ANY OF MY MEMORIALS IN MY COMMENTS. ANY CHANGES TO MEMORIALS OR TRANSFERS WILL ONLY BE DONE THROUGH THE EDIT TAB, SUGGESTIONS FOR CORRECTION OR ADDITONS, ON THE MEMORIAL PAGE. WHEN ASKING FOR TRANSFER PLEASE INCLUDE REASON FOR TRANSFER AND YOUR FIND A GRAVE NUMBER (LOCATED BEHIND YOUR NAME ON YOUR MAIN PAGE) I WILL GET TO THEM AS SOON AS I CAN.

I am asking if you send me a request for changes, or transfer please be patient with me. I am dealing with the stress from doctor appointments for myself, husband and daughter, back and knee problems, along with taking care of grand kids in there, I don't get on here as often as I would like too. I try to get on for a few minutes daily, I fill request for photos for those that I have. If I have a few extra minutes I will do a few other up dates.

I have no problems making changes or transferring memorials to relatives.

Find A Grave Memorial# 58237905

I am working with a local veterans group to locate the actual Soldier's Medal award citation document that is quoted in the text of the memorial page.

I'm wondering if that came off a photocopy you might have...

Thanks,

Hutch

Oh my goodness. You and your daughter are so kind to go out and do this. THANK YOU. It is wonderful to add into my records and share with my family. Ivar died very young of cancer at that time, with 3 very young children. I believe the word further is father..and the word dohl is doth. I was actually wondering if it would be in Norwegian as that was their home language. Now that would have been interesting for you to transcribe!!! Once again...thank you so much for your efforts. I just cannot express how grateful I am not knowing if I will return to this area myself. Thank you so much.

I appreciate your willingness to do this for me Maureen. It would mean a great deal. It takes so many man hours to do this type of transcribing, never mind the proofreading of this information. I greatly appreciate your efforts. Earlier this year I was at a genealogical conference and I met an individual who does not do family research but is retired and travels to cemetaries in the country, transcribing and recording them. Many of these markers are breaking, getting covered in moss, and fading. So this work is invaluable in order that our ancestors can be found. Thank you so much for the diligence you put forth in this regard. There are many individuals that appreciate your efforts I know.

I totally realize this is a volunteer position and that you are doing all of this out of the kindness of your heart. I had just found it surprising that the cemetery itself did not have hardcopy records and I did fear he was 'lost' to our family. Thank you SO much for your very prompt reply and not only that but adding pictures as well. My mother will be overjoyed to see these. It really means a lot. IF you are ever walking in that cemetery again for any reason, I am wondering if you could possibly transcribe what is written on the headstone below his name, birth and death dates. I cannot quite read it from your pictures. I am not sure if I will ever travel that way again and this would be wonderful to add to my genealogical records. Again, this may be out of the realm of what you do and that is perfectly understood. AGAIN, thank you SO much for your efforts and for setting this straight. I am extremely grateful! Brenda

Hello,

I have a question regarding the above mentioned transcription on Find a Grave. This is my GGrandfather, Iver Hanson. Last year I travelled from Canada to this cemetery to visit his gravesite. I would be the first person to do so. I was excited to find his location on Find-A-Grave as noted by yourself. However, at the cemetery there was a totally different person at this site. I did find the caretaker and he got out the map of the cemetery. Again, we followed it according to the plot numbers, etc. and he is not there. I must say it was so disappointing as I had travelled a great distance to visit his grave. I asked him if there was a hardcopy record of the burials as obviously there had been an error. However, he told me the only record was the one I would have seen on Find a Grave. I was just wondering if you knew if he is now 'lost' to us. His name was Iver, not Ivera and obviously he is not buried at this site. Although I do know that he died in Crookston and was mostly likely buried somewhere in this cemetery. I am not sure what the process is for recording this, but is there any way to determine where he would be buried? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

david solberg (toby)
HI Maureen -
I saw you had a request for David Solberg. (located at union lake cemetery, Polk county, mn)I went out this morning. there is a temporary marker that the funeral home put there, but not a permanent one as of this morning. I will wait awhile before I go out again, as unsure of when there will be a permanent one. Jolene
