Steven Reichert picture
Hi Jack!
Thank you for the photo for Steven Reichert. It's great! If you wanted to, you can also post the same picture to Steven's father, Valentine.

Steven was a friend of my dad's and he was remembering him today. Thank you for getting the picture so quick! When you have time and when it's convenient, I can walk you through your question about making pictures fit. Email or phone work great for me.

Happy Memorial Day! I do hope you get to enjoy it and that you have a chance to remember someone special in a special way.

Photo Help Request
Me again,
I can still help with your question about downsizing photos. What program do you use on your pictures? I can walk you through it by phone if that would be easier with you or if you want to meet at the public library sometime, I can bring my laptop and show you what I do. Just let me know!

RE: Fairview Photo
I think an on-site audit, where one or two people have a wireless laptop to findagrave and another one or two people have field guides and can randomly pick a few names in each section to confirm a photo was uploaded. While we're there - if we find a section (or two - but hopefully not) that aren't complete, we can finish them there and then! It was so cold the day we were out there that the organization of the whole thing pretty much fell flat with most of us wanting to work so fast just to get back into a car to get warm!

Also, every once in awhile, you might see a duplicate memorial. It happens, and most contributors work with each other to get one of the two (or more) deleted. If you take a look at the current two photo requests for Fairview - one of the two (Arnord Osburn #37262582) is a duplicate memorial. The original memorial (Arnold Osburn #32377315) already has a photo attached. To have someone head out to take a picture might be a waste of time in cases like this. You can usually figure out if a memorial is a duplicate based upon birth/death dates, location (when it's listed) spouses, etc.

Just a few quirks here and there that add a bit of challenge to our lives huh?!

RE: Fairview Photo
Hi Jack!
On April 25, about a dozen of us went to Fairview and photographed every headstone there. However, it is taking some time for several of us (me too!) to upload all the pictures we took. So, for photo requests that have come in since April 25 (and might still in the next few weeks) there either is a picture for that stone on someone's camera *or* there is no headstone. I'd say by the end of this month, chances will be the latter for every request (unless the memorial is for a recent burial or a new headstone placement).

I've got about 100 pictures left to upload - but after that, I could use some help with a quick "audit" to make sure every section got done. Would you be interested in helping?

Talk to you soon,
Mariah

Hi Jack!
Looks like my email was too late! You found Oren A Lomax!

What a beautiful headstone and great picture! (I forget how early things green-up over there!)If you wanted to, you could crop the picture - to remove the white space. If you want to and need help, please let me know and I'll walk you through it!

If you'd like to, you could also post the exact same picture you took for Oren to the memorial for Ruth Rosa Lomax. You don't even have to have a "Photo Request" to add it. Just click on the "add a photo for this person" button below the picture of Fairview Cemetery.

I also *really* like that you mentioned who which Lomaxes were nearby! :) That's always a big help - but you know that! You could also post pictures of the headstones for them (Bennie Lee Lomax and
Sidney C Lomax) too!

Again, Welcome! and I'm glad you're here!
