Mike and Cynthia are both retired US Army Soldiers. Mike retired as a Colonel and Cynthia retired as a Sergeant Major. Between the two of us we have 54 years in the Army. We enjoy documenting our family history, and especially finding all the military connections. We live in a 120 yr old home in the historic district of Eufaula, Alabama and love it!
If we can help with cemeteries in the Barbour County, Alabama area please let us know.
RE: Sewell Cemetery-Autauga Co It has been a while since going there. The cemetery was located in a grove of privy hedges to the left side of the road. If I am not mistaken, it was next to a mobile home. If I get that way, I will try and locate landmarks for it, or GPS.
RE: Little-Catrett Families I DON'T RECALL IF I EVER ANSWERED YOUR REQUEST. I HAVE BEEN OFF OF ALL GENEOLOGY FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I AM TRYING TO RE-KINDLE IT. I KNOW THAT KITSY WAS RELATED TO A FAMOUS FAMILY CALLED DE CARTERETTE FROM THE JERSEY ISLANDS. IF YOU NEED ANY MORE INFO EMAIL ME AT firstname.lastname@example.org and I will try to help. I had gotten a lot of info. on that side of the family before I stopped doing it a couple years ago.
RE: Little-Catrett Families Yes, I am a relation. She would have been (I am not looking at my paperwork on it at this moment) a GGG Grand-mother if I am remembering correctly. My mom is still alive and remembers that family line in that area. She lived near Monroeville, Alabama as a child and she stated she remembered the Catrett's. She said they were called "Cartwright" but that is the family we refer to as Catrett. I have a lot of information on that link. It goes back to the Jersey Channel Islands. Go on line and pull up De Carterett in Jersey Channel Islands and you will be surprised at the news. We are related to royalty. Our GGG x however many Grandfather was the "King" so to speak of the Channel Islands and was good friends with King Charles II I believe was correct. He was given what is now known as the state of New Jersey to our Grandfather and he named that state New Jersey after the Jersey Channel Islands from which he came. His wife's name was Elizabeth and hence the capitol of N.J. is named Elizabeth Town. It is easy to trace that line because it is of royalty so you will have no problem finding it dating back for a long long time. Have fun with it because I did. If you find anything on Karanepuck plese email me at email@example.com. Thanks!
