Information about burial location and details is often the most elusive part of putting together the family story. Geographic distances between grave locations of all our forebearers are barriers to first hand information gathering in our United States. Georgraphy make it difficult to make personal visits to many family cemetery sites. Find-A-Grave volunteers are wonderful help in locating and transcribing gravestones and taking photos. FindAGrave is all about grave sites and information accuracy.|
I am happy to do my small part in adding and maintaining memorials. I have worked primarily on a limited number of family group,--- to date Brooks, Reynolds, Tenney, Noyes, Parker, Carver, Bartholomew, Sinclair, McMartin, Henderson, Phillips, Wright, Nash, Elwell, Jarvis and their related surnames. Slowly, I am trying to pull together this information and am more interested in quality than quantity of memorials posted. Over the years I have developed some guidelines:
---Friendly suggestions/corrections are ALWAYS welcome.
---I do NOT post published obituaries WITHOUT attribution (name of publication, date, and author, if known).
---PLEASE do NOT just add material to the memorial page, photos or flower notes without first going over the EDIT page permissions.
---PLEASE do not be offended if I ask you to offer some documentation or proof for your suggested edits. I reserve the reasonable oversight of modification of the memorial so that accuracy and highest standards can be result. I welcome edits for improved accuracy.
---Please do NOT just "drop" photos (portraits, document copies, artwork) on the memorial sites without sending me an edit or note- without author, creator and source specifics these should not be "copied and dropped" into these memorials and should be removed. DO NOT DROP PHOTOS OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN CREATED BY SOMEONE ELSE ON MY MEMORIALS. COPYRIGHTS MATTER.
---Please be courteous about all grave memorial sites.
---Any of MY OWN posted photos and original material require attribution citation and permission BEFORE you might consider copying and using.COPYRIGHTS MATTER.
---I do NOT transfer family memorials, please follow FindAGrave guidelines for your requests and suggestions.
---PLEASE do NOT add notes, comments or genealogical material to "Flowers"- instead send an edit or suggestion so that your biographic and genealogical material can be added to the memorial.
---PLEASE leave an "edit" on the memorial tab should you have material to add, correct or delete. The "flower" accessory here meant to be honorific, just as leaving flowers on actual grave. It should nt be about YOU but about the subject of the memorial.
Thanks very much.

Regarding your request, feel free to use my Benton Cemetery photos however you like. I don't have the originals anymore, so you will have to use the ones from the web.

I just found a marriage record for Ida May Kimball Perry and Harrison Martin Webster, 26 Aug 1894, Winneshiek Co., IA
That means the 1895 census showing Ida May Perry is wrong and I have removed it.
It's possible that there is a divorce record in Winneshiek Co.
|Chuck Perry||RE: Perry Family of Detroit Lakes, MN|
Well, Lewis and Lillie were married and living in White Earth by 1895. Ida is still in Iowa. From the state census, 1895 • Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa. She is still listed as Ida May Perry.
As for Lillie's death, the SSDI says Hennepin, but the MN Death Index says Ramsey. When given the choice I always go with the death index. I have found the SSDI to be somewhat unreliable about the death location. Another thing is that Lillie and her daughter Hazel were both widows after 1950 and may have lived together in St Paul.

You're welcome, but I hope you will move the memorials to the correct cemetery so that I can add the photos.

I don't want to flood your page with a lengthy message. Write me offline.
|Jack Parker||RE: ABIGAILL LAKIN PARKER|
She has been in our thoughts of late. We know that she re-married a Dickson of Concord, but have no clue as to where she wound up. There are other descendants of hers in our group - would you like me to hook you up?
|Jack Parker||Capt James Parker|
Unsure where we left things. I've been busy of late. We commemorated a plaque to Capt James and Elizabeth Long last weekend. If I failed to hook you up to the larger group of cousins. please let me know and I will rectify.
|BigFrench||RE: Francis Jones|
I have added marriage announcement and Death Cert for his half-sister Mary Roy Jones Wright.
She is who applied in 1931 for the C.S.A. marker on Francis' grave.
I'll not put any more time into that family as I've much to do for my book-writing.
Good luck in your search--!
