 | RE: Joseph Preston Woodson Bill, don't remember if I answered this or not about the Calvary Cemetery Office and undocumented graves. The sign at the cemetery says to contact the Beaumont Catholic Diocese for burials. I don't know what type of records there are there. Kainer memorials used to be across the street and I always heard they had the records there but the business is no longer there. If you know about any undocumented burials backed by death certificates, please enter them. I have had several inquiries in the past for graves that I could not find. Kerry | | | Kerry Girolamo
 | Joseph Preston Woodson Hi Bill. Sometime back I transferred Elmo Woodson to you. I had a question about his son Joseph Preston Woodson (1904 - 1985). His wife Irma Choate Woodson (1907 - 1957) is buried in Calvary. Do you have any information where Joseph might be buried. An inventory of Calvary did not produce a headstone but could have been missed. Looks like he died in Groves, TX. Thanks, Kerry | | | Bobby Fortenberry
 | Correction Thank you for finding the mistake. My records are correct but that's what happens when you get in a hurry and don't double check your records. | | | Linda

 | RE: Another Duplicated Memorial Thank you very much for your kind offer. You are a gentleman indeed.
I have an idea about that of which you speak, where some people take ownership of the memorials they put up, and are in some kind of competition.
I really don't understand it. The mentality I mean.
I do what I do, research genealogy and DNA, because it provides a service for others, and someday I will be gone like the morning mist, in the heat of the day, and at least I can leave behind something for others to remember their loved ones.
My children and grandchildren have no interest in my research, my work, my efforts, caught up in their own lives. But I don't do what I do for them. I do it for others, because the loss of history and memory is the greatest of losses.
I don't take possession of my memorials and try to pass them on to their children or grandhchildren but they don't seem to be interested.
There is an old cemetery near me, pioneer for this neck of the woods (Washington State) I keep meaning to take pictures of the graves, it is being hemmed in by Home Depot and a public works parking lot.
Maybe this summer.
