|I am a married mom of 4 living near Houston, Texas. I got interested in genealogy a few yrs back & quickly found findagrave. Since I'm an avid photographer who often finds herself shooting in old cemeteries or strolling the rows just trying to piece together her own ancestry, it just made sense to volunteer. |
My "brick wall" (just on the longshot someone in the know happens by) is Ban Casser Watson (b 1859, GA - d 1931, Dallas County Poor Farm, Hutchins, TX). All records from 1900 on are verifiable as my ancestor. There is a 20 yr gap prior to that, & he's also still winning the hide'n'seek game for the 1920 census. His wife was Mary A. (b in TX, yr unknown - d bef 1930, details unknown), married about 1887. Probably the 2nd marriage for both of them.
From 1860-1880, I find records indicated someone with the correct initials, of the correct age, and in the correct location (GA) - but the name itself is different every census.
Surnames in mine & my husband's familys I have dabbled with & would enjoy the exchange of information about include: Wacasey, Watson, Smith, Bizzel, Thorne, Ekleberry, Altenburg, Mosley, & Chandler.
Although I live in Ft. Bend County, I'll often fulfill requests for surrounding counties: Wharton, Brazoria, Austin, southern Harris, Colorado, etc.

Do you have any photos of Charles & Lillian (we called her “Ouie”?
Lillian and my Great Grandmother (Edythe Edna Brown Griffin) and she lived in Sonora. I asked my Mother the other day how Ouie was so nice and her sister so nasty? We think in part it was jealousy that Ouie & Charles lived in San Fran. hehehehehe
As a child I loved visiting them in San Francisco (we only lived about 60 miles north). Well until my parents immigrated to Australia, take all 5 kids (12 years me down to 4 ¾ years).
Looking forward to hearing from you.
PS my email address is in my profile.

At first I thought you had it wrong. John Burke Mosley, I knew married Ethel. His mom was Ethel, that, I didn't know.

Laura, absolutely my pleasure to honor another Veteran who did not make it home..

I did the best I could given the condition of the headstones, especially John's. Our summer heat can take a toll on things left in the sun.
typo corrected-- thanks for bringing to my attention!
