|Clarke Family||RE: Glover Avent Family Cemetery|
Attempted to locate Cemetery. Did not find. May try again but think I will need to wait till late fall early winter after the underbrush has died back and leaves have fallen so more sunlight can get down to the ground. If no one fulfills the request by then drop me a note to remind me to go look again.

You requested photos for Glover Avent Family Cemetery. Looks like it is on private land. If I contact landowner to get permission to go on land would like to be able to explain relationship of person looking for gravesite. Could you advise on your relationship with Glover Avent?

Sarah, -sorry for the condition of the photo's but it was so hard to even make some of the inscription out even in person. If you click on the photo itself, the caption contains the inscriptions that were readable and how it connected to Ora Hatcher. It is sad that the cemetery overall has not been maintained. But I hope this has helped, mam... - Jerry

|Dale Schaefer||Ada/Samuel Williamson|
Hi...well, this is a new on for me. I found their plot, but the stones have been overtaken by a VERY thick privet bush. It was so dense I really couldn't get a photo of Ada's stone and only a partial for Samuel. When you walk by the bush there is no clue that there are two stones at it's base. Not sure the cemetery folks even know that these stone are there. I snapped as good'a pic of Samuel's stne as I could and posted a pic of the bush for Ada. Please feel free to delete them if you like. I also sent you an Edit for their plot location. Sorry.
|Andrew Ayers Martin, M.D., J.D.||RE: Dicey Springfield memorial page|
Hi: I am related to the Langstons through my fifth great grandfather Rev. Nathan Langston, who was a double first cousin to Dicey Langston Springfield. Nathan's father was Absalom Langston, a soldier in the British Army in the French and Indian War, the brother of Solomon Langston, Dicey's father. Both men married women related to the Bennetts, doubling the relation. I am not descended from the Sprinfields though. Rev. Langston married Catherine Smith, and their daughter Martha married William Groves Yarbrough, son of Revoluionary soldier James Yarbrough, who was killed in the Creek Indian Massacre of 1792 in Franklin County, Georgia, then on the border of the Cherokee Nation. James' widow brought her children back to Union/Cross Keys, South Carolina where Groves grew into manhood then married Martha Langston. Once hostilities with the Indians subsided, the couple went back across the Tugaloo River into northeast Georgia and reclaimed the land, near Currahee Mountain where my grandmother grew up.
I am honored to be related to Dicey Langston Springfield through Rev. Nathan Langston.

Thank you for taking a picture of my gg Aunts headstone. On Find A Grave, you can not see her name at the top of the stone. I think it is spelled Harriett. Second line, wife of, 3rd line, JT Morris. Next time you are out there do you think if you pour water on on the stone and then take another picture, it might show up better?
Thank you again

|Laura (Bell) Mead||RE: Sarah Pearl Canon Floyd|
Regarding Sarah Pearl's brother, Dr. Bedford Floyd, I know that in his later years he moved to Cashiers, NC. He died there sometime in the late 1990's and was likely buried there unless his family returned his body for burial in Gulfport, MS.
|Maria Gilliland (Head Hunter)||RE: photo|
So sorry for the delay in responding to your question of where did I get and date on the Gilliland, perry, etc... Photo. I usually do document in the caption the credits but somehow I missed this one. I have several sources it could have come from as i myself am a Gilliland by marriage. I will look this week to try to source this photo for the caption and will also notify you too. Thanks, Maria Gilliland
