Johnson Family
Susan, here is where our family comes in on the Johnson line, May Florence Cox whom married Caleb Monroe Deeds is my great grandmother, she was b.Dec.12,1888 in Deleware, Logan County, married in 1906, died Feb.5,1916 in Deleware, buried in Graves Cemetery, she is the D/O Robert A. Cox and Martha Ann Johnson both are buried in Graves Cemetery also, Martha married twice 1st to Robert Cox, and 2nd to William Ashbury "Berry" Barnett, she had children by both, Martha Johnson is the D/O Jonathan Brigham Johnson Sr. & Mary Elizabeth Brandon, Jonathan was married twice also, 1st to a Sarah, and 2nd to Mary Elizabeth Johnson. Mary Brandon was also married twice, first to Robert Sooter and then 2nd to Jonathan Johnson, I show Jonathan born 1835 in TN, this info from census records, he died on Dec.25,1873 and also buried in Graves Cemetery, the death and burial date came from Great Aunt Mary Deeds, she has since passed herself, she also said that Mary Elzabeth Brandon Sooter Johnson died in 1936 Dray, OK., she was supposed to be living with her son Thomas when she died, I have not been able to prove her death at all however, I have sent for her death certificate many times with a variety of spelling in OK & AR, with no luck at all. It took me a very long time to sort through some of the intermarring, Mary Elizabeth Brandon's sister Nancy Jane Brandon is also my greatgrandmother as well, Nancy married Thomas Montigue Deeds. Hope I have helped out a little, Clara

RE: jonathan b. johnson
Susan,
The only information that I have on Jonathan B. Johnson are that he was born in Tennesse in 1835 and died December 25, 1873 in Delaware, Logan Co, AR. He is buried in the Graves Cemetery in Delaware, AR. I have no idea where the grave site is as his name was listd in a book that I used at the Oklahoma Historical Society on the cemetery burials in Arkansas. Johathan's wife was Mary Elizabeth Brandon who was my 3rd great-grand aunt. Her brother was Adam Carter Brandon was my 3rd great grandfather. I do know that the Johnson family intertwined with the Brandon and the Jay families for many generations. I wish I could be of more assistance.
