James Purnell
RE: Oliver James Purnell (1881-1950)
Hi Diane--Nora Axford's parents were Henry Axford and Elizabeth Hook. I believe they were both born in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England and were married before 1853. If you could give me information on the Axford Line, I would appreciate it.

Old Cooper Cemetery
Hello, Diane! I apologize for taking time to get back to you, as I have been moving. I'll post here for you the info I have. Many of the Lucas lines and genealogical trees state the same, that John and Mary are both buried in the Old Cooper Cemetery in the NE corner of the cemetery.

It is located about 2 1/2 miles east of Calfee (Knob) Mountain in Virginia. Calfee Knob is about 2.6 miles southwest of Riner, Virginia. This info came from papers left at the Floyd County, Virginia Library entitled "The Lucas Family"

MAP:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GRid=98701149&CRid=2468922&

I have no exact location, however, someone else mentioned calling George Lucas, president of Calfee's Mountain Timber Inc. located in Riner, VA. 540) 382-9509. He probably is a good lead and knows the area.

Hope that helps. Wish I had more info for you. Blessings!

Pam
