THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR VISITS!
I was born & raised in Ironton,Ohio. I now reside in Corbin,Ky. Virgil was my only child. Tony Thibodaux set his Memorial up. He's related on my husbands side of the family. My world revolved around Virgil. He was married & a father of a wonderfull little boy. My hobbies are Wheres George. When I hugged Virgil by that time I never dreamed of it being the last hug he would ever give me.
I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH
I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH;I DID NOT RAISE MY HAND.
ALL I DID WAS HAVE A CHILD WHO GREW TO BE THAT MAN.
HE DID HIS JOB WITH HONOR.
HE WAS NOT AFRAID TO FIGHT;HE WAS NOT AFRAID TO DIE.
THE BABY I HELD IN MY ARMS,THE BOY WHO BECAME A MAN,HE PUT HIMSELF IN DANGER.
HE SAID NOT TO WORRY;HE SAID,"I WILL COME HOME."
THOSE WORDS COME BACK TO HAUNT ME...SPOKEN OVER A PHONE.
THE KNOCK ON THE DOOR IS ALWAYS JUST A MOMENT AGO;THE TEARS IN MY EYES, THE PAIN THAT BREAKS MY SOUL
FOR I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH;I DID NOT RAISE MY HAND.ALL I DID WAS RAISE A CHILD WHO GREW TO BE THAT MAN.
THE BABY THAT I HELD,THE CHILD I WATCHED GROW FILLED MY HEART WITH SO MUCH JOY AS ONLY MOTHERS CAN KNOW THE MEMORIES OF HIS LIFE WILL STAY WITH ME FOREVER. THE CONNECTION OF OUR HEARTS CAN NEVER BE SEVERED.
HE IS NOW A FALLEN HERO AND I A GOLD STAR MOTHER,BECAUSE HE GAVE HIS LIFE. BUT I DID NOT TAKE THE OATH;I DID NOT RAISE MY HAND.
ALL I DID WAS RAISE A BOY WHO GREW TO BE THAT MAN.
It's been almost 5 years now & my pain is still so intense it hurts to breathe. I have found some true friends here. I have been trying to move forward but without Virgil it isn't working. I visit often but somedays I just can't stay online or am away from home. I do notice each visitor Virgil has had while I was away & appreciate everyone remembering him.

Dear Judy
Thank you so much for the visit for Yannis's Angel day. It made a hard day a little easier to know that so many friends care.

RE: Thank you
Your welcome Judy,
I can't even imagine losing my child. My sister lost her son at the age of 12. He was hit by a car while riding his bike. It was a devastation for all of us. His name was Nathan Kyle Saunders. I made him a memorial on here. God bless you and keep you strong. Thank you for leaving offerings at some of my relatives memorials, it is greatly appreciated. Your son was a HERO, and I am proud to have been able to read your story.

You're welcome, Judy. I'm sorry for your loss, pets are like family and then the connection to your son must make things even more painful. Take care.

A big surprise
Hi Judy, I hope your doing well. Again I have managed to let my work take over my life and have decided to take some time for myself and enjoy it. haha I got the surprise of a lifetime from my boyfriend of 14 years last week, he finally asked me to marry him!!!! Im very excited to set a date and start a new chapter in my life but it is also sad because my dad wont be there to give me away and I wont have the mother/daughter bonding but I know they will be there in spirit.

Again, I hope all is well with you. Take care.
