Columbus Cutrer Carter
Hi Frank. . . my grandfather went by the name of Charles C. Carter. However his real name was Columbus Cutrer Carter. His parents were Minton M. Carter Jr. and Molly Jarvis. He is listed as Columbus Contrairas under MM Carter Jr. name.

As a child, I knew my uncles as Henry, Billy, Truly and Tec. Their sisters, Dora and Beulah, are listed. However, another child, Nellie, is not listed. The family lore is very interesting about Nellie.

I understood that my grandfather's grandmother was Cherokee. He was 1/4 Cherokee, which - I think - would have made Nancy Y. Cutrer the child supposedly adopted by a white family after her parents died on the trail of tears. Thus goes the legend. Can you shed any light on this story?

Thank you..... Pat Glenn

Inez Carter (Price)
I don't know who this person is to you, but do know that she is related to me. She was I think my mothers aunt. Or great aunt. My grandmother is Artie Ruth Price.
Anyway nice to know someone else is looking at our family heritage.
