I also know that by 1905, he was going by the name of Jack Johnson and was living with his Aunt and Uncle Charles and Abbie Johnson. And, that by 1918, he was already living in Texas per his military registration.

Edith, what are the odds of one having the same name, birth and death dates? The reported birth year is only a year off from the 1884 that I have. I have proof that my Jack Johnson was born Nov 2 because of his military app. In it he states his nearest relative was Abbie Johnson of Emporia. I'm not sure Edith. I was thinking he should have been born in Lyon County, Kansas, if it was him. However, I don't really know where they were when they would have had him. Interestingly though, they didn't mention his parents. Thank you so much for getting this.
