RE: Annie and Wesley Thomas
I am sorry, I am terrible at checking my messages on here. I'm glad you were able to gain maintenance of your family members Wesley and Annie Thomas. I am related through a cousin branch of the Thomas family, who also lived in Red River Parish and are also buried at Thomas-Wren. Most Thomas's were descended from John Thomas, son of William and Ankey Thomas. John was born in 1786 in South Carolina, and he died in Butler County, Alabama. His older brother, Phillip Thomas, born in 1784, also moved to Butler County, Alabama. Phillip later moved to Columbia County, Arkansas. His son William Phillip Thomas moved from Arkansas down to Red River Parish (back then it was still Natchitoches Parish), Louisiana. William Phillip dropped off a few family members and then he said "happy trails" and moved on to Texas. His daughter Martha Evelyn (or Eveline) Thomas was married 3 times - John Edward Keith, Joseph Murphy, and Andrew Jackson Sessions. Her youngest child, Martha Almedia Sessions married John Daniel Bamburg, and their daughter Claudia Dee Bamburg Maloch was my great grandmother who died in 2005. There are many people in Red River Parish who are descended from Phillip Thomas and his son William Phillip Thomas.

Your line seems to come from the John Thomas line, brother of Phillip Thomas. John Thomas had a son William J. Thomas (1812-1882) who married Margaret Henderson. Their son was John Henderson Thomas (1838-1917) who married Delilah Margaret Pickett. John Henderson and his wife Delilah had 13 children, of which one was named Robert Fitzsimmon Thomas, known as Simm. Simm married Sarah Jane Long, and had your Wesley.

So, that's how we are related. It's distant for sure. But it's there.

James Yount - Thomas Wren Cemetery
I am James Yount's daughter. Please be advised that he is buried in the Thomas Wren Cemtery right next to Earl Giddings. Plans are in place to get a grave stone for him very soon. I am not sure who asked you to find this grave, but please update your records accordingly. Thank you.

Alton B Collins
You took a picture of my Uncle Alton B Collins' and Aunt Dorothy G Collins' tombstone in the Buelah Cemetery. I would dearly love to use your picture on the family tree I am making. Uncle Alton and his family were close to mine when we lived in Louisiana. I would spend part of summer vacation with them, so I would really treasure the photo. Many thanks, Marguerite

Donna,

Thank you for the photos! Was wondering if you knew what it says at the bottom of their stone? Can't make it out in the photos.

Also, my I have your permission to use the photos on my blog?

Thank you again.

RE: Annie and Wesley Thomas
Thanks for the info.

Wesley's grandfather, John Henderson Thomas, was a cousin of my ancestor, William Phillip Thomas. William Phillip's daughter, my ancestor, is buried at Thomas-Wren. Her name was Martha Eveline Thomas. Her first husband was John Edward Keith (buried at Thomas-Wren). And her third husband was Andrew Jackson Sessions (buried at Thomas-Wren).

I come through the 3rd marriage to Andrew Sessions. Their only child was Martha Almedia "Allie" Sessions, wife of John Daniel Bamburg. Both Allie and John Bamburg are buried at Thomas-Wren. John and Allie's daughter, Claudia Dee Bamburg Maloch, is my grandmother. Claudia is also buried at Thomas-Wren.

I have gobs of info on the Thomas Family. If you are interested, let me know. And yes, I would love to have more info on your line.

Jeremy
