I found your page searching for my ancestors and saw that you created the pages for some of them.
I am a great-granddaughter of John Wesley Richmond and Edith Shumate. As my parents were divorced when I was a child and I stayed in Germany with my mother, I don't really know much about my father's side at all. I have contact with my grandfather (John's son Paul Lee) and he gave me some old photos and a hand-drawn family tree the last time I visited him. Looking at these photos, I feel sad that I don't know where I come from.
As you seem to have known my great-grandparents, I would like to ask if you know of any way I could find out more. Maybe there are family websites or something like that?
Thanks a lot for the memorials you uploaded. It's very odd for me to see them, but I'm glad nonetheless, because I never would have otherwise.
Hello, I added a photo to the locust grove find a grave for you. I wanted to let you know that on facebook we started a page for the locust grove families. I don't remember seeing your message about William Hale before. You posted a message back in Mar 2011 on Find a Grave. I don't know if William was married to dora mae karr. I know he was divorced from his wife, Laura Harville, so it feasible he remarried.

I appreciate your getting back with me. I found an online tree that used Elizabeth's headstone pic for Lucinda. It bothered me a bit and I wanted to be sure you had it straight. I haven't done much with this group for a couple of years. Croley is the part of my family that I started with and I had plenty of hand-me down information to get me started.
I have been reminded to be careful with connecting folks. So that leads me to want hard proof of clarinda connections. It will come though.
This all started with my trying to break-through my brick-walls in Nevisdale.
Thanks again for such quick and helpful responses.

I need to review my 1880 Census records but I am not thinking that this is Lucinda Croley wife of Sim Powers. I have reason to believe that Sim Powers is buried in the Powers Cemtery down the road with his wife. But I have no concrete evidence.
I also have not found a direct connection between Clarinda Shumate and Clarinda Powers. I sure would like to find the death record.
Lots of folks in SE KY have dates that are close and dates that are the same.

I am wondering about Clarinda Powers Shumate. When did she die? Were her parents Sim and Lucinda Croley Powers?

Diana.. he had no brothers or sisters with that name that I know of even though it was a popular Chandler name. Go to his gravesite picture and look at the brothers and sisters.

I transferred the memorial to you. You are direct line, and this memorial should belong to you so that you can properly care for it.
Glad to do it.
