Prudence Babcock
Hello,
Regarding your photo request for Prudence Babcock:
I made a couple visits to Colwell Cemetery earlier this year but was not able to find her. I suspect hers is among the numerous stones in this cemetery that are no longer legible.

Hi! I have removed the photograph per your request. If you would like to have the file management of her site, please let me know. I'm happy to transfer it over to you--just let me know, okay? I'm not in a race to see if I can get more than anyone else. Thanks! CHB

I am both happy and 'amazed' that you located the grave site. THE SEXTON AT HURON VALLEY CEMETERY STATES THAT James Harry "Lefty" IS NOT BURIED THERE.
Did you let him also know you found it so he can correct their records? Believe it or not, I had a similar situation when a sexton told me my family member was buried in an 'unmarked grave'....my friend and I searched the entire cemetery and found the grave site AND HEADSTONE! Congratulations on your 'find'.

Well dang, you will delete them, yes? I was so excited to find him that I did not even ck the dates and before I left I recognized that there were two *head shake*.

I'll be out there again soon for there are several others I couldn't find.

Please, delete them. Thanks dj

RE: William Burr
Ken, I'm glad you posted a message. It prompted me to go to the Hayes Center today and look up the obits for the Burr's in Parkhurst. According to all of the obits they were indeed buried in that cemetery. I also checked the cemetery transcriptions that were available but they weren't listed in any of them. At this point the only conclusion that I can come up with is that none of them has a headstone. The only other thing that could have occurred is that they have the stones that lay flat on the ground and over the years just got covered up. It's kind of hard to believe that none of them ever got a headstone though. Anyway, just passing on the information.
