Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello. I've been researching my family tree since 2001. I have started visiting local cemteries to build a "Find A Grave" Family tree. Most of my maternal family is from Southeast Michigan, while my paternal families come from Oklahoma and Ohio. Some of the surnames I am researching are: Southard, Harris, Voltz, Metzger, Grabler, Hopper, Schadewald, Furgason, Matthews, Mellon, Fleming, and Wade. Please contact me if you have any suggestions and/or questions.

Thanks for coaching me with her maiden name. I had forgotten to look at the Saginaw Public Library site.

And, with nudging me -I found her parents!

Job well done. Thank you for taking your time to help me.

Gratitude hugs, Wendy

Hello William:
The memorial you requested is transferred.
Thanks.

RE:
Hello:
Can this be transferred to me? She is family, and they have decided to exhume her and move her to another location - I figured it be better to update this one instead of leaving it.

Cemetery walk
Hello, I want to organize a "Ridgeway Rambles" cemetery walk for Ridgeway for next Sep/or Oct. I'm not sure if you are near Ridgeway. Would you at all be interested in taking part in this by representing one of your ancestors buried there? I want to give first dibs to family members. This would involve "being" that person for tours coming through the cemetery. Please let me know, I welcome any ideas. Please respond back to me at heritagegirl70@gmail.com with cemetery walk in the subject line. Also, in the email please list your relatives name(S). Thanks!

I transferred Julia to you, but will keep Donald for now, as he is in my line of family. I may re-consider his at a later date. Send any info you want added to Donald by the edit feature, according to my guidelines on my member page. I just uploaded their pictures from last summer. Trying to get caught up on my memorials.

Have a good day.

Thanks for the info, William! I will update the notes on Frank Grinage's memorial.
Also, thank you for causing me to look at his page because I'd never noticed that someone had actually posted photos of his headstone! I had placed a note there back in 2010 stating that someone had checked with the cemetery office which said they had no record of his burial there, and yet lo & behold I see someone posted photos of his headstone in 2011! Great!
On another subject: Where were your Southards from? I am good friends with a Southard family for whom I've helped quite a bit off & on with their genealogy. Their Southards are from Maine going back to the Revolutionary period, and indications are that the name may have been Serote (a French-Huguenot name) prior to that.
Thanks again!
John

RE: Joseph Mellon Obit
Hi, No I'm not related. I am copying a whole book of obits from Tecumseh that I found in the library- probably a thousand. I just thought it would be nice or help someone else if I put them on here. Quite a few of them I cant find the people. Glad you enjoy it Thanks!

RE: Voltz
Hi William,
Very glad to help out!
I did not clean the headstones to photograph inscriptions. I used the aluminum foil technique to make inscriptions legible. It works wonderfully!

As for transferring your GGG grandparents memorials to you, I certainly would ... but .. they are not mine. You will need to contact Dave and Scooter. They are the original creators of the memorial.

Take care and good luck !

Pete
