Bio Photo Hello! Cemeteries have been a favorite haunt for as long as I can remember! I grew up in one of the only towns where the cemetery of our founding fathers is on the main street of the downtown! So as a kid, I'd explore the cemetery whenever we were running errands. And it's stuck with me ever since!!

I have a BA in History from the University of Hawaii and an MA in Historical Administration from Eastern Illinois University.

Currently, I am the Executive Director of a historic cemetery in Raleigh, NC!

I have finally revisited my research I have the Hay/Gales couple buried at Linden Lawn M 3 which I have added to the memorials. This is based on my research and the Oakwood database itself. She is listed as Belle C Gales Hay and her husband, Thomas T Hay, is listed without any dates.

The couple had 2 daughters Mary Seaton Hay Jones and Belle Cameron Hay Stronach who are also buried at Oakwood.

I have requested photo's to make sure I have identified this family correctly.

RE: Col Edward Graham Haywood
Would you like me to pass his memorial on to you for management? I am working on trying to locate all of the Confederate Colonels, Generals, Statesmen graves for a book showing each grave.

RE: Col Edward Graham Haywood
I got the information from a book Called Confederate Colonels by Bruce Allardice yes it would be very nice to locate the grave. I am working on trying to locate all of the confederate Generals, Statesmen and Colonel graves in hopes of writing a book featuring pictures of the graves I have been to several cemeteries throughout the Southeast.

I haven't been out there yet, but according to FL's records, his neighbors are: Nellie May Kemp and Maude Clementine Wood. Hope that helps. If you still want pics of them, I suggest requesting the photos. I know I rarely look at the notes, and it's sheer chance I saw yours; I'm guessing the same is true for many photo volunteers. On the other hand, just having the names might be all you need...

PFC Sam H Dickson (Manila Cemetery)
Dear Robin,

I posted some recent photos that I took onto PFC Sam H Dickson's page at Find A Grave. Also, my kids and I took an impression of the grave etchings on paper. If you would like it, just send along a mailing address and we'll get it in the mail to you. Best regards from Manila,

RE: Nichols Cemetery
Hi Robin! A 3 month old is a full time job! I don't know how you have time to take any pictures, much less go looking for cemeteries!! I can wait, when you get time, whatever you have will be great.....more than I have now. Let me know where it was so I can change the directions on the cemetery page. When you get a chance. Thank you so much for getting the pictures that you did get.
Happy Mother's Day!!

RE: Nichols Cemetery
Hi Robin, What did you and your dad find out this last weekend?
I had my mother talk to her only living sister-in-law in Durham and she thinks that this is possibly the location:

222 Robbins Road, Oak Grove Township, directly behind the Robbins Road Christian Church.

RE: Nichols Cemetery
Absolutely you can keep any that have expired. Have you had any luck? I haven't looked yet, but will. I'm sorry you couldn't find the cemetery....I knew it was overgrown and abandoned, but thought you wouldn't have any trouble finding it. Little do I know. I hope your dad can help out and I sure am sorry that you are having trouble with it. Here is another site that has some information....but I think it's the same as Find A Grave.
Thank you for all of your help and again, I'm sorry for all the trouble.
