I started using Find A Grave primarily to add my own relatives as I found out where they were buried. (Specifically the Mathias and Elisbeth (Hasling) Gilsdorf line and the Benjamin Franklin and Ruth Eline (Pond)Sprenkle line.). Then I decided to take a couple of volunteer photos, well that first time was a bust. (I claimed 13 "photo assignments" that were in a cemetery I was heading out to that day. Of those 13, I was able to get ONE, all the rest were either unmarked graves, graves the cemetery couldn't confirm were there, or they were broken). BUT as I was looking for those 13 I snapped some random shots -just in case they weren't on here- and added them when I got home. My reasoning is this, I knew the name of my Great Great Grandfather's brother (Casper Gilsdorf) and by chance ran across his memorial on here (ShirleyM was sweet enough to transfer it to me-Thank You again ShirleyM!), hopefully by me taking pictures of headstones (Some "assignments", some totally at random), someone else can run across a Find A Grave page for their ancestor. That having been said, if I have posted a memorial for your ancestor and any information is incorrect, PLEASE contact me and I will fix it. Also if for example I have added your Great Uncle Fred, and you know his wife Sheila is buried right next to him, but I missed her, let me know, and next time I am around that cemetery, I will be sure to make a stop and take a picture of her headstone to add here. If you would like your ancestor transfered to you, just ask and I will be happy to do it. *****With one exception: I won't transfer my family members that I have added, I would like to keep those. If you do find out that we share an ancestor, let me know, I would be delighted to learn of another relative. | |

 | Relative of Huguette Clark Hello Rickie. I have just added the memorial for Timothy Clark, memorial #102825650. I would like to link him to Huguette any way I can if possible. Would you happen to have any suggestions?
Here's the story on him: http://openchannel.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/30/16238005-potential-heir-to-300-million-clark-copper-fortune-found-dead-homeless?lite | | | Ginny M
 | Hugette Clark I have a photo of the interior with her name if you would like to add it...limit of 5 has been reached. If you take away the one of the WOodlawn sign, there will be room.Added by Ginny M on Oct 28, 2012 2:56 PM | | | James Lentz
 | Huguette Clark This person should qualify as a famous person. Refer find a grave to this link if they disagree. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43166747/ns/business-huguette_clark_mystery/

 | billy mays update I failed to mention that confirmation of Billy Mays grave location, began with a phone call, by me, to Musmanno Funeral home. They, in turn, referred me to Calvary Cemetery, who confirmed that he is, indeed, buried there. Mr. Mays' funeral was held at St Mary's Catholic Church, 3 St. John St., Mckees Rocks. He attended Sto-Rocks High School, 1105 Valley St., Mckees Rocks.Added by ROBIN on Mar 01, 2011 12:41 PM | | | ROBIN
 | location of billy mays grave Billy Mays, the television pitchman, is NOT buried in Beth-Hamedrash Hogodal Cemetery, in Mckees Rocks Pa. He is buried in MOUNT CALVARY CEMETERY, on Middletown Road, in Mckees Rocks. The grave location is Division 4, Section H-5, Lot number 66. This was verified by the cemetery superintendent, in a phone call, today, March 1, 2011, by me. The error needed correcting, in order that interested F-A-G members, would be able to find it.Added by ROBIN on Mar 01, 2011 12:25 PM | | | czechmate48
 | Gilsdorf photos I just found this web site by accident and found a photo of the headstone of Mathias & Elisabeth Gilsdorf as well as Casper Gilsdorf. These are my direct ancestors and I took the very same photos in May,2007 when my sister and I visited the St Bernard and Cornlea Cemeteries. I also took photos of other relatives that I found there as well as at Humphrey. If you would like info on the Casper Gilsdorf family, please let me know. | | | GHarb17
 | Billy Mays memorial Hi Rickie,
Based on the information for the memorial for Billy Mays, my fiancee and I made the trek to McKees Rocks to pay our respects.
I can confirm that, after scouring Beth Hamedrash Hagodal Cemetery, that Mr. Mays is NOT located there.
After more than a half hour of looking over the whole cemetary, I was stopped by the caretaker who seemed annoyed by my presence (he should have been more annoyed by his own caretaking as the graves were pretty overgrown with grass and weeds).
He indicated to me that Mr. Mays is NOT there, and he "didn't know why they put that on there." He said, "this is a Jewish cemetary and this is my cemetary." He seemed to think that Mr. Mays was buried "out near the airport" but after discussion with a young lady that was with him, he was unable to tell me exactly where. He said I could stop at the police station and they could tell me where he was at, though I did not do that.
Further research on my part indicates that Mr. Mays had a Catholic service, even more evidence that Mr. Mays is not in this Jewish cemetary. I spoke with Lisa Turnage, the lady who uploaded the pic of Mr. Mays' grave, via email, and she said that she did not take the pic and that others have told her they couldn't find Billy's grave in the listed cemetary.
While I enjoyed the adventure of trying to find Billy's grave, this entry needs to be edited so in the future people can avoid going to the incorrect location. I have not yet been able to figure out where he actually is located, unfortunately.
Thanks for your time, and otherwise great entry!
Gary H.

 | Henry & Elizabeth Gilsdorf Rickie - Would you like your Great Great Grandparent's memorials transferred to you? They are not relatives of mine and I would love to give them to a family member. | | | | [View all messages...] |
