For those interested, I transferred most of my memorials to the group I am member to and where all my information goes to, the Wabash Valley Geneology Society to give them a start online.

I will continue to contribute fully and as much as ever but under that name. This username will be for my direct family and friends of whom I shall never give up. (grin).

I am still trying to connect with my ancestry of Wheeler / Bevington in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky as well as points east.

cemetery location

Where exactly is the Hooper Cemetery (Arcanum)?

Is there a grave stone for Col. George Hooper and/or his wife Elizabeth?

Does anyone have information about son Benjamin or daughter Elizabeth Hooper Elcan? She is burried in Buckingham county at the ELcan cemetery.

Thanks for your attention,
Anne Cespedes

Are you related to The Family of John T. Wheeler buried in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri? I am a descendant through Frona Wheeler. I would love to know the connection. Thanks, Susan Crews

RE: Eli and Mary Eckley - Gerlach Cemetery
You are very welcome for the photos. When I went to this cemetery Eli's stone was already broken and leaning against it's base but the stone beside it was face down. It seemed certain that this stone was Mary's so I just had to take a look. The township does maintain this cemetery so hopefully they will right her stone properly.

Benjamin Franklin Wheeler
No problem, John. A quick look on shows that Benjamin Franklin Wheeler enrolled on 3 Jun 1861 in Oxford, NC and mustered in in Weldon, NC on 13 Jul 1861. Looks like he was discharged on a certificate of disability later that year. Good luck with your research!

I did not know there was already a picture of the stone on the memorial. When I signed up to take the picture the request was still open, if you would like me to take the picture I put on off just let me know. Jeannette Liebeck Smith
