I currently live in the Beckley, WV area, but I previously lived in West Palm Beach, Florida, and I am originally from the Northern Virginia area. Over the past several years, I've gotten interested in genealogy and researching my family tree. Find A Grave has helped me with full names and dates of birth and death. It has also helped me to "visit" the graves of loved ones who are buried in states too far away to go to in person. I have relatives buried in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and California. The main surnames in my family are Craig, Morris, McGraw and Fleming.
I have transcribed names and added memorial pages for people in West Virginia and in Florida. I photograph headstones and create memorial pages for those people. I hope that the information I add will help others in their genealogy research. And I thank those who have done the same for me and my ancestors. Thank you......I have been researching the Brooks family branching out along the lines of my McClure family and this one really did puzzle me. Guess I am still puzzled till there are headstones to finalize the dates for sure. Thanks for writing to me about this I really appreciate it.

Sounds good! And I will avoid those 3. I have done Valor, Beth-el, Islamic, Memory. I'm thinking Hillview, Restvale, Locustvale and Buena Vista to start with. I can do a section a day if the weather is good, my bladder holds out, and I don't get kicked out! | | | historianne

I have started going through the cemetery section by section. When I add a name I put the section under Plot or I request the originator to do so when I add the photo. Most do. I am finishing up Valor Section this weekend-all with pics. I also remove the generic cemetery photo (Bud's of Ridgelawn) and replace it with a photo of the actual section. Should have the cemetery done in 20 years!!! Actually, I have already photoed (no such word) several sections, but it takes time just to add in the names and dates. Please contact me if you ever want to divide and conquer this cemetery- also to avoid duplication of effort. A Tammy added some graves and pics, but she has no idea what section, so not all that helpful. I do add in obits from time to time and figure I will eventually find their location and add that in. I got a copy of the map last year too and that is what I go by. Thanks again! | | | historianne

Thank you so very much for the photos of the graves of my Snead family!!!! I live quite a distance from this cemetery and it's great to see pictures since I'm not able to travel there very easily.
